If you don't track the car then go for the ps3's.They are a very good tyre and your pe2's must be ancient, the rubber will have hardened and cracked. New tyres and you wont be wheel spinning in the wet.
Any of the top tyres will be better than worn pe2's. Any tyre close to the wear bars will...
That's ok mate, just been at Bedford fro an Evo track evening and they were awesome! Once warmed they gave good consistent grip with excellent feel enabling me to stay on track for many laps with no drop in performance and through the corners was able to keep up with some of the big boys and...
I have dealings with ignorant idiots like this frequently, usually its whats your last price without even viewing a car. My response is to add 1k to the asking price, their response can be highly amusing.
I loved the fact that he said he's sold 19000 cars and hasn't lost any money, maybe in his...
This is is hilarious, this guy doesn't know his arse from his trophy! Gives us legit and knowledgeable enthusiasts who are dealers like me a bad name. No sachs, no trophy! Period! Cant right and ad for toffee! 4.5k for a cat d red 182 with recaro's! Oh and the mileage goes down as you drive not...
Michelin recommends the v rated tyre for the trophy. Unless you can compare back to back not sure which way to go and when i put my v rated ones on they didn't feel like jelly and were much better than my knackered pe2's
I think you can get hung up on michelin as the brand to have, have a look at evo's last tyre test when i think goodyear won it with the new eagle, i fitted some to a boxster i had last year and they were excellent.
If your on there replace the lot if your keeping the car, you wont need to do it again for years. Don't get solid top mounts for the road, too harsh and of no discernible benefit, i have just rebuilt my front end and put on renault top mounts.
I got v rated and they were fine felt good on road and track. The w is for heavier cars its not necessarily to do with stiffness and i think the trophy is supposed to be on v rated which would make sense as a stiffer tyre is not necessarily going to be better especially on the road and it will...
Tyre leader is cheap, i've got a trade account and got some ps3's for mine and i think they were 55-60 each plus vat. Just checked they are about £75 including vat. I claimed the vat back which made them really cheap. They have 3 different specs of ps3's. I maybe able to order them for you if...
Just keep in mind if you de cat, dont see the benefit on a standard engine, it will fail an mot. You will need a very friendly tester who doesnt mind a bung to put it through or you have to put it on for the mot.
I had 2 broken front springs when i took my sachs of for a rebuild so went down the mark fish route with revavled koni rears, the originals were on 90k, don't neglect the rear and just do the front.
I find it slightly firmer at low speeds but its lost none of the compliance over a bumpy b road...
Agree on the mileage. Condition and history more important. Mine's done 90k but is probably better than a 60k example. The engines and boxes are strong and they all need sachs rebuild at some point so its a good time to refresh the suspension, baggy suspension is what makes a car feel tired.
Hi,
197 cams wanted, must not be from a blown engine! Ideally from a accident damaged but still running car that is getting broken or from someone who has done a cam swap.
I would give you 4k all day long so would question why you say you want a lot less money than the cars worth, does it need a full respray, new engine, g/box or something like that?
Also if you are not genuine what is the point of posting in this forum.
As i am sure others have said pm me and...
cant find them on cs, who's selling? what thread? maybe missed it as i have not been on for a couple of years.
solid top mounts not convinced they maybe too harsh, think i will change my engine mounts first and if this solves the majority of the harshness i may get them, any more vibration would...
Hi, this is what i currently run with some thoughts on changes;
JMS RS2 with upgraded engine mounts ( probably replace with standard and get updated map )
upgraded dogbone and gearbox mounts.
fully polybushed all round.
whiteline rear arb.
standard suspension all round with refurbed front sachs...
Thanks for info, will get in touch with stealthsport, think the change back to standard mounts a good idea seeing its worked for other people. I have put up with the harshness for a long time now, 20000 miles or so and if that could be solved along with new mapping to make it run a little better...
Hi after a period of doing nothing to my Trophy and it not getting use due to me setting up a car showroom i was wondering if anyone is still running this mod? I still have mine.
Has there been any further work done on these, i do love the torquey nature and the noise although it's very harsh...
We need to keep enjoying these cars as there will never be cars like this again, MK.11 clio 172,182 and Trophy, hot hatches at their best!
Simple no frills fun!
Love my trophy, just taken it out for a blast for the first time in a while, never selling it. I have been using a Silverstone Edition...
I have heard that as long as the oil is good quality and checked by habd to keep it to the max with regular servicing, personally i change mine every 6000 miles although whether this makes a difference. Oh and a good thrashing dose them good, these are the same engines used in the clio cup...
I am just after the best remap with my RS2,always run on v power, decat scorpian combo and as i said it was the first car i had remapped, 270 quid for 20 mins and four runs and it didn't seem he did much aPART FROM A FEW TWEAKS. Rip off and the the way he slagged of the RS2 saying for a few...
