My sachs were refurbished before my ownership so I just replicated how they were built.
Plus there is a spacer nut on the shaft under the top cup. Makes me think something is not right although there isn't any knocks when driving.
Nice clean engine bay by the way 👌
Ive often wondered on the top mounts if this is how they should fit under the bonnet?
I had my car serviced at a renault dealer and they said the top mounts are loose as in not touching the body work.
I argued that thats how they fit (i copied the previous fitment).
How do other people's sit on...
Im glad to help wherever I can. Ive been working on cars for almost 30 years and have had a lot of problems to fix on cars. Alot are people's bad workmanship. Some are just built badly by manufacturers.
I wish I still had the mi16. Loved driving it but spent alot of time fixing it also
This is a picture of a door off ebay. All clios of our era should have a membrane inside between the door and door card (i think it dark grey and made of thick ish foam type material).
If you look you can see the black line where there is sealer to glue it to the door that acts as a waterproof...
Ive ofter wondered if the driveshafts are the same between a standard 182 with no cup packs and a trophy?
The reason im wondering is because there are 2 different wheel bearing sizes (1 for none cup pack & 1 for cup/trophy).
The polestar was a impulse purchase. I was walking past my local car dealer (hyundai & Genesis) looking to see what electric cars they sell and saw it sitting there as a part ex in a sea of bland cars and i couldn't help myself.
Ive seen some amazing clios on here.
Some are cars used only in better weather than this time of year, some are low mileage and some are used as they were made to be used.
My curiosity is what are people using as their daily driver if they are not using the clio?
I will start if off because I...

Part prices are starting to get wild.

It's showcasing the 20th birthday of our amazing cars showing number 421
I had a noise in the same area and it turned out to be the power steering pump but that had more of a whistling noise and not as noisy. It could be the dephaser because ive heard they make alot of noise when on the way out. As to how the dephaser sounds I have no idea because ive not heard 1...
It's a massive shame to see another 1 off the road permanently. The damage is easily fixed but it's the cost of the repair and availability of new parts which probably hindered its chances.
It will be a while before they are ever fitted because the ones on my cars are still in good condition but as I've learned, sometimes its best to buy stuff when it's available because alot of parts are slowly getting harder to source.
I was so happy to get a free gift that I forgot to unwrap the springs and check them or even take a picture 😆
Please find attached a picture I've just take (9 hours after taking delivery)
Today my 2 rear grams Trophy spec springs arrived from kam racing and they added a nice extra gift to say thank you for your purchase. They didn't last long
After spending abit of time looking around the Renault originals site I'm slightly concerned that the timeline shows a couple of clios like the Williams and v6 clio but no mention of any Renault Sport clios or the Trophy considering its constantly voted as 1 of, if not the best hot hatch cars...
Ive just received my items today and I'm genuinely blown away by the amazing quality of the calendar.
The write up from the owners each month and the press release from Renault sport drives home why im such a fan and fellow owner.
Thanks to everyone involved in the calendar and the owners...
If at the end you dont manage to sell all 50 calendars I will happily buy another 1. I'm sure they will all go very soon but I thought I would be cheeky and put my hat in the ring if any spares are left over 🤠
At the moment I'm having trouble with my delivery from Amazon. Its due before 8pm tonight (18 minutes from now) and its not looking good. Might have to order another 1 from a different seller but I will happily upload a video and some pictures if it works
I have invested (amazon delivery pending) in a soda blaster gun (sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda/ bicarbonate of soda) I've done a bit of research and sand blasting and similar forms damage the surface slightly and pit it but soda is delicate and none damaging.
I'm not sure if it will manage...
Did you manage to get the dampers refurbished?
Mine are in a sorry state and look exactly like these.
I spoke to BG Motorsport sport who were very helpful over the phone but the 1 thing that concerned me was when they said that if there were any rust holes on the spring platform they would send...
Thanks for letting me know. Its abit far for me but I don't mind travelling to someone who does a good job and is recommended by people who want their car looking 100%
