I never got mine to stop squeeling, and I had removed the shims, filed the edges down and greased the backs/sliders etc! Swapped to ebc redstuffs and the squeeling stopped but didn't notice any change in braking performance.

Goodridge hoses are often coated in a plastic slieve, so they could be upgraded ones. Where are they located, because the braided hoses fit near the rear jacking point and not on the calliper as you would imagine.

Cheers Julz, I took the pads out yesterday and shaved a bit more off the ends, and applied a bit more copper grease to the backs and ends. There is now about a 0.1-0.2mm play where the pads have been shaved, but hopefully this isn't dangerous. Anyway, the squeeling has now stopped...

The racing DOT 4 stuff halfords do is very good. I'm running the DOT 5.1 as it was quite a bit cheaper and I have no issues. In reality, you're not going to boil normal DOT 4 or 5.1 unless you're caning the brakes on a track.

I will be fitting the above pads in a couple of days, and I've heard you can lessen the chances of them squeeking by filing down the edges of the backing plate. Has anyone on here done this and can you tell me exacly where on the pad I should file and how much? Thanks Graham
