    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Lovely job. Great find. I just ordered a pair. Hopefully they'll sneak into the UK without import taxes, as I asked them to mark them as 'samples'. Let's see. All I require now is some top mounts and I'll build up my second set of Sachs as pictured by Nick. I can't recall if the group buy...

    182 Trophy Decals

Thanks for making them available whomever has, as they are NLA via Renault. Great work from the community as ever. However, are the ones available via the forum a true colour match to the OEM? I thought there was a slight colour difference? The forum ones being either marginally lighter/darker?

182 Trophy Springs - help please

Hi Peetee, I'm afraid the OEM springs ceased to be available from Renault a very long time ago. Elbach were the OEM supplier that provided them to Renault in the first instance. The front springs were unique to the Trophy due to the Sachs adjustable, however the rears, while colour coded for...

    Sachs adjuster protection

Great find Marc and thanks for the prodding Hoolio ; ) Although I think Rik did send me a pair in the post, it was a long time ago and I may have never got round to sending him a SAE. Some pairs and spares purchased.

    Spare parts to get NOW

Can you really? Do you have a link to anything (in French or English fine) that outlines what they'll do? My understanding of the Peugeot Museum was just that. A museum where versions of all the cars are stored. The historic parts catalogue is mostly old stock as I understand. They have...

    #42 on Collecting Cars.

Up to £11,250 now. It's a bit tired and non standard (front splitter, KTEC mounts, KMS air filter box, HT leads, alcantara dash and gear knob inserts, alloy plate on drivers footwell foot rest - easily removed; steering wheel re-trim is tasteful at least) with parts missing (boot lid rubbers)...

Clio Conundrum _ sell or make like new

The main man himself. Always a great pleasure dealing with Andy. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Hopefully when things are a little more back to 'normal' Andy will be able to recommission my Trophy which has been in professional storage and needs new fluids and cam-belt etc.

    GOOD NEWS - Sachs Rears

That was the front Sachs. I wasn't aware the rears fitted a Twingo, or if they did, were suitable for rallying. The front Sachs for the rally Twingo were the 'new old stock' that were discovered in France and offered to forum members 12-18mths ago. They can be identified visually by the...

Group Buy - Brand New Original Eibach Trophy Front Springs

Yep, next day delivery @Rob75 After ordering them on the Thursday they arrived safe and sound on the Friday. @RS-Editions Seems like we got the last couple of pairs.

Group Buy - Brand New Original Eibach Trophy Front Springs

@Gareth Y Hi, sorry, was caught up in a bunch of things. Didn't realise they'd be released into the wild. I'll still take the pair I put my name down for if there are a pair left.

Frayz’s Inferno orange 182 - Back in the old flame

While I'm at it, the thread about the 200 Cup Chassis suspension set up. Quite a bit to consider if thinking about the Cup or Standard chassis. The angle I came at it was from the perspective of the Trophy set up being sublime (for British A and B roads). All subjective to where everyone likes...

Frayz’s Inferno orange 182 - Back in the old flame

As a couple of people have asked me about the Elf NFJ vs. NFP 'box oil debate, and if I'd put NFP in the Trophy 'box, for those interested the threads below. There's a lot of detail. TB Rich is a serious engineer! https://clio197.net/threads/gearbox-oil-mtl-redline-or-other.48351/ Post 12, is...

Frayz’s Inferno orange 182 - Back in the old flame

You could try a FF 200 without the Cup Chassis. The Trophy is far more compliant than a 200 with Cup Chassis on British A and B roads; particularly those that are poorly surfaced. Taking that route with the 200 could remove the driving edge from it though. I too have both Trophy and FF 200...

Sensible to leave it there I'd think. Oh well. If someone happens to drive to NL they might have some better luck; or stumble on the 'secret cache' in France

    Brand New Sachs. (Group Buy)

Many thanks for the details RS-Editions. His English isn't the greatest is it, better than my Dutch. Maybe like most Dutch people I know, he's simply being brutally direct and blunt in his responses. Or perhaps he's responding to your question about the price including delivery, and he can't...

    Brand New Sachs. (Group Buy)

By receipt/invoice I mean proof of him purchasing them/shipping or similar. Apologies if that was misinterpreted. I'm also happy to treat him as an individual. However, detailed pictures mean nothing. He may simply not send what's pictured. You're correct, he could have advertised them for...

    Brand New Sachs. (Group Buy)

I'd be interested in a pair. A few provisos though. He claims to work for a company with a branch in France - what company, and where in the Netherlands? On the basis he's unwilling to tell you there is something wrong. Traders are usually keen to sell. He may simply be adding some margin...

    Monday afternoon outing for #407.

Couldn't agree more. My FF 200 with Cup suspension can't compare to the Trophy on a twisting B road with irregular surfaces. The Trophy glides over it, whereas the 200 attempts to beat the road into submission, while jarring the drivers teeth out and generally crashing about getting agitated...

Wow. You don't check the forum for five months and you miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Gutted. Amazing to read the story and everyone pulling together. A true community. Well done everyone, especially BenG and Claude. Should another pair appear as if by magic please let me know. I'd...

    Picked up the Meg today

Glad to hear you survived that! Looked pretty hairy. Good for you getting straight back in the saddle. Can we have the details of the accident (without incriminating yourself of course)? Interested to learn how it all happened. Perhaps some learning for people?

Maybe buying my 1st Trophy No. 260

I feel the standout is the quality of wiper blade. Have you ever seen a less appropriate clip used? #noclue The fag lighter is also missing. The drivers seatbelt is also grease monkeys fingers magnolia; far from silver. OS wing, OS door, bonnet and front bumper do all look different shades; it...

    172 cup only 17,000 miles !

Yes, I see the different N and A docs for both now. The Group N and A homologation for the Cup is 1st April 2003 and for the 172 1st Dec 2001. I agree with your logic that the 172 was a volume road car that went through homologation to become homologated. Based on the later homologation date...

    172 cup only 17,000 miles !

Quite how I didn't realise that I don't know, given the amount of rally and circuit racing cars about. Thanks for pointing it out and waking me out of my daze. In my view that does make a huge amount of difference. Seems the Clio 172 was homologated for both Group N...

    172 cup only 17,000 miles !

Not hugely better, but at least both are better cabins to be in, have superior front seats to the 172 Cup and don't have interior trim that matches the body paint colour. I'd very much doubt the interior has much to do with it; we all know that. They're buying V6's because they have a V6...
