I think for a big performance step up in acceleration and handling they shoulf have charged 16k and fitted a lds as standard. Would have put it clear ahead of the 182 other models then. At the moment the times are too similar imo.
Renault could afford to spend lots on the Williams because its sole purpose for design was to allow Renaultsport to go racing. The f7r was an engine designed for a rally car, and put in the Williams to follow hologation rules. Except for the Williams, the f7r on the williams only ever appeared...
Come on Nik, the Trophy may punch above its weight, and i can see why some would rather have it over some 30k cars for driving. But to say youd have a Trophy over a £150,000 Aston Martin is rediculous.
This will work trust me.
Get the money in a bag and go to the dealer. Drive the car and say you want to make an offer.
Open the bag of cash and put it on the table infront of the salesman. Tell the sales man there is 13k in the bag and thats what your offering for the car. Every 20...
Im sorry, but williams prices are now rock bottom. They have only ever gone down. Only the very best low mileage examples get close to the original price of 15k.
It will be 10 more years until williams prices go up, and by then all the shit cars will have rotted away.
What you mean the competition spec speedline alloys as used by the daic 1.8 rally cars to win on their debut in the French rally championship against 4wd cars? Fitted to a cup race car front track?
Have a nice day :P
How much do the trophy wheels weigh again? :P
Whats the point in stupid comments? I was offering some reasonable advice. Grow up.
In 5 years time when you take it in to get the alternator removed and the alternator costs you 90 quid, but the labour for removing it costs 100 quid because they couldnt undo one of the crappy rusted reno...
Nik, if your going to keep the car for ever follow some wise advice and do the following:
Change the coolant every year without fail, full flush.
Get the underside properly sealed with a polyerethane paint
Go round the bolts and put a dab of zinc paint on them.
Neither of my williams will ever be for sale, so they are priceless.
Both my williams have had brand new alloys form Renault (total cost 2000 pounds)
200 has had every nut and bolt i can get to under the bonnet replaced with new. The suspension is new. The engine has been rebulit and...
Suprising the VX seems to be alot faster then cars youd expect it to beat. Everyone states it has alot of torque steer, and is a beast to handle. Im suprised it beat the trophy and more suprised it beat the goft gti.
Maybe its not as bad as everyone makes out.
Your dreaming if you think youll get more than 10k after one year. Buyers think like this:
You bought it for 12.5k
So im paying 9.5k max
They dont care what retail is. Prices will drop for 2 or 3 years then stabilise around 3, 4 or 5 k depending on condition (as they have for 172's)...
Im a research biochemist, researching cancer and phyonutrients. All scientists now have to train in statistics just to understand the research that come out.
We have to be able to understand a good paper from one where the figures dont add up, but have been manipulated.
No. With the prospect of being shot down by all the trophy lovers on here.
Renault saw to that when they knocked 3.5 k off the retail price with discounts.
Honda dont discount. Result - civic holds its value. Renaults policy of reducing car prices with discounts will mean your car will be...
A 20 year old volvo is a sfer car to be in than a clio in a crash. It has no airbagd, and no encap stars.
But it is very solid. If i was worried about keeping the occupants of my car safe in a crash (if i had kids) id be buying the car with the most metal around it. Not the one with the most...
No what im saying is that i am an independent scientist trained in statistics and i could rip a hole in their argument so fast that they would not have time to deploy and airbag to save themselves
I have no vested interest in selling airbags. The companies that make airbags do. Make up your...
And when 'reports' claim reductions of a percentage (in this case an 11% reduction from having an airbag fitted) they are talking relative numbers not absolute numbers.
eg.
In the treatment group (air bag fitted) 7.6 percent died in accidents
In the control group (no air bag fitted)...
LOL @ confidence bounds. That this means the deaths prevented are an estimate based on a small popluation sample.(ie they studied 10 accidents, accertained that an air bag would have saved 3 lives, then extraploated that to all the accidents in the country using a normal curve model).
This is...
The steering colum will crumple in an accident. Thats whats its designed to do. If it is such a hard impact that even despite the column crumpling, it still travels far enough back to smack into my face then im pretty sure ill be dead anyway as the front of the car will be completely destroyed...
Airbags were invented in Britain, but used in America, where in some states it was not a requirement to wear a seat belt, so they fitted airbags to cars to save lives. With no seatbelt fitted, they do save lives.
However, if your seatbelt is working, in the event of an accident the seatbelt...
Could be the gear lever isnt aligned properly. I had this on my williams for a while. Was caused by incorrectly fitted engine mounts. New engine mount cured it.
However, all new cars have this to a certain extent. See if it gets better with miles.
Well if you cant dispatch a 20 year old mr2 i dont think youll have much chance against a williams.
Oh but wait there, its a proper sports car with the engine in the right place and the correct wheels powering the car :P
