Ive never been bothered by rattles. My exhaust rattles on the heat shield, but i dont really get effected by it. If you pay 12k for a car expect rattles.
LOL, if the car pulls either way, TAKE IT BACK AND DEMAND A FULL WHEEL LASER ALIGNMENT.
For fucks sake its a new car, it should be right when you buy it. Dont take no for an answer. Tell them you have trading standards phone number. Get them to sort it.
Jeesus i just wish people knew who...
LOL, you think your Trophy rattles, you should have a drive in my Williams. :P
IMO the more rattles the better. And if you can hear the passenger or radio when driving fast, it isnt a proper car.
Youll have to wait 20 years before a 'classic' is worth more than its original asking price.
20 year old MR2's are now fetching 10k in mint condition, they originally sold at 9k.
In 10 years time a standard mechanically sound rust free Williams will be worth around 15k, its 1993 asking...
Jeremy has to tow the 'corporate line' as if he recommended mineral oil and the engine blew up, Renault would be responsible. Did you really think he would tell you anything other than what Renault recommend?
Personally id just stick to the oil recommended if i bought a new car. But id never...
Bearing in mind the cars first service isnt until 12,000 + miles i would almost guarantee they come with fully synthetic oil in them.
Renault arnt bothered whether your car is a fast one or not (although you can guarantee the press cars have cherry picked run in engines) they just dont want...
I dont know about an F4R, but i know about F7R's.
On a new F7R i would be putting a mineral oil in from 0 miles and running it for about 2,000 miles, changing the oil to mineral again for 2000, then one last mineral change to take it to 6000.
Then id be changing to a semi synthetic and...
Some Williams owners think an Elf sticker in the back window signifies some kind of indication of originality or that the car has been cared for.
It does neither. Its just a sticker. Id be more worried about the colour of the oil and if the gearbox is sound.
You said the Williams was old and outdated.
I asked in reply to tell me what on the car is outdated.
You came back with a stupid comment
Kind of proves you cant find anything on the Williams outdated.
And proves further you dont know what your talking about.
Fair enought, the Williams isnt your cup of tea. However, thats the sort of comment that alludes to the fact that you know very little about what you are talking about.
Can you tell me from an engineers point of view one component of the Clio Williams that isnt still used on modern cars...
Thats all well and good, but on one hand you extol the Trophy as the best Clio, then on the other expect ppl not to want to beat you.
People want to beat the perceived bench mark. The press have built it up, and now ppl want to know how good the car really is after the journos have finished...
Its because resevoir dampers are not needed on a car as light as a Trophy. I get slated for saying this but the purpose of a resevoir damper is to prevent damper fade. It would be very hard to induce this in a car as light as the trophy, ergo, they arnt needed.
The fact that the Fiesta ST...
Read a review of the Ferrari and look at the tech spec.
It is a race car with 490 bhp. It has a differnetial that 'simulates' 4wd. It has a gearbox using F1 technology. The driver can change the suspension settings based on different conditions. Its mostly made of aluminium and weighs just...
Ask your self one question:
Would a 168 bhp trophy, beat a 490 bhp supercar that laps fiorana 3 seconds quicker than the f360?
If the answer to that is no, then you might see that the autocar results are 'dubious' at best.
And as for a Williams, i wouldnt be stupid enough to assume a...
Thats complete rubbish, ive often said that i like the trophy and if i wanted a new car at that price i would consider buying one. However, your quote from Autocar again shows what a load of shit they talk as the official fugures from Renault are 7.4 second to 62 mph and 134 mph. They cant even...
So you too think that a Clio can beat a Ferrari supercar round a track? Amazing. If a journalist told you that cheese was worth more than gold would you beleive that too?
No it wouldnt because it dosnt have a trick differential, rwd, aerodynamic efficiency, soft tyres, a low centre of gravity, a mid engined configuration, a paddle change gearbox or suspension that changes depending on the conditions.
Give the Trophy the 490 bhp of the Ferrari and it would...
I was responding to someone who said that it was 'impressive' that a Trophy can lap more quickly than a F430. My response is that it isnt impressive, because its not going to happen. Lets be honest, it isnt is it?
I dont see what quoting the front page of the website will achieve. There are...
If you beleive that time isnt a fabrication all i can say is youve never been in a modern Ferrari or any other super car. Or autocar drivers can't drive for toffee.
Either way it casts the whole review into doubt.
To every car enthusiast in the world that time is ridiculous. Autocar shouldnt have published it without a caveat, as the Ferrari was obviously broken or had no tyre pressures or some confounding circumstance. It makes the whole review a joke imo.
A 182 BHP clio will not match a 490 BHP...
