In that autocar review it says that they feel the car should have more power because it can handle the corners so much better. Has anyone modded the engine of one of these?
Seems this site ppl are leaving them standard, which i think is a good thing.
Can someone please supply me with detailed technical speciafications of the trophy suspension please?
Eg spring setting, damper settings, track width, wheel weight.
And then could someone do the same for the 182 cup.
I really need the details from a technical point of view of the damper...
LOL, just goes to show how little you know about the Williams. They were sequentially numbered from 1 to whatever. No numbers were repeated between the european market. Ie 0001 is the only 0001 and is lhd. 0002 is the only 0002 and is rhd. 0007 happens to be lhd and 0006 rhd. There arnt 2 of any...
Bit of advice, dont argue with me about the history of the Williams, as you will lose. 0001 is ldh. Hence its NOT a UK car. Hence when i said first UK car to come off the production line, i was in effect right, and when you argued with me, you were technically pretty wrong.
Have a nice day. :P
In the same way an cosworth, Delta integrale or F355 is a relic. Im happy to be associated with those kinds of relics in an age related way. It was a classic age, full of cars that are too hard for the playstation generation to drive.
(oooohh, i need traction control mummy, and abs please and...
Forstly 0001 is not a UK car. Its lhd.
Secondly, it will go for over 30 grand. So no, spotty little gimps wont be able to afford it.
Thirdly. You say a williams will never be worth thousands in one sentence, then in the next say you can get one for a grand, which by definition is...
Did i say the car was crap? I said it was popular because its cheap. Simple economics. Cheap things sell in higher volumes. Thats why they are cheap.
I agree the 205 gti is a pretender for the best driver hot hatch of all time. Its a different car to the Williams. The 205 is very...
They are pupular because they are cheap. How many 182 owners wouldnt swap for a Focus RS if they were the same price? Most people who buy a 182 do so because they cant afford a CTR.
If an ITR was 12 k would you still have bought the trophy?
'Its the closest we've got to a modern 205 gti - in other words the closest to perfection today'
Thats one of the farest comments ive read in a review.
I think the reviewer basically thought the Trophy was good as it was trying to echo the past. A point which seems to fall on deaf ears...
Is that funny is it? :?
Yeah the RS2 is amazing. I love the shape of the F355 too. The F360 is a better car im sure, but looks wise i like the Berlinetta.
The RS2. Take the dog, wife and 4 kids for a drive and still spank the boy racers to 60 from the lights with 6 on board. Oh and take a...
So about the same chassis flex as my williams. Just trying to understand if my williams flex is age related or renault shit build quality related. As my mr2's door closes perfectly jacked up, id say the latter.
Thats one of the best reviews yet. The first reviewer who hasnt jumped on the band wagon and pandered to reno marketing department. Basically the car is good, we all know that. But he didnt use hyperbole and become overly verbose.
Jack up your trophy on the front sill and whack an axle stand under the car on the chassis. Then open the door on the side where the car is jacked up. Does it close and open without propblem or is the door now out of line and the catch catches on closing the door?
Tom, thanks for the invitation. Id be glad to take your challenge, but if you dont mind ill use my 18 year old MR2. Completely standard, with just 120 bhp.
I think you hit the nail on the head with your observations. The trophy and other 2ltr clios look faster than they are because people...
18,000 and 150,000
Young one is standard and original. Other has been completely rebuilt bar a gear box and drive shafts which will be going in early next year.
I dont doubt a Lotus exige moved over to let you through. I do however question any intimation that a Trophy is quicker than a Lotus exige on a race track. Come on lets get real.
These cars produce actual downforce that in the wet will be a MASSIVE advantage.
And as for the GT2, well...
Im not particularly proud of them. I just like rare things no one else has :P
Im a car collector. Ok, so im still young and dont earn millions yet. But a rust free MR2 mk1 in very good condition and 2 clio williams' seems a good place to start. My next purchase will be a Audi RS2. 8)
