Hi Scott, i don't know of any info on the car, i guess its easier on here to get the model number. Just wanted to ask why the change from the 172 cup ? the one thing since owning my Trophy is i don't like the ABS where as yours doesn't have that, as for speed the T was never tested as all write...
There is a cheap fix for the bolts that leak but unless your confident in doing it i wouldn't suggest it but here it is, you can remove one bolt at a time use a bit of sealent around the head then re-bolt it back down, ideally its best getting the whole cam cover done as it will most likely leak...
To me your pic's are a tad blurry when expanded however it looks as though you have the same oil leaks i have on the cam cover one being on the front common leak and the other being from the bolts yet again common leak. As for oil in the manifold, give them a clean with either brake cleaner or...
Its similar just the additives are different, imo opinion your better off sticking with Tesco 99 ron i know when vauxhall or should i say triple eight were racing in the BTCC they done a comparison on fuels and tesco come out with best performance, how true that is i don't know. I do know...
All fuel's are different however all usually come from the same place. The differences are the additives in the fuel, for instance tesco's to make the extra 1 ron would use something that combusts with a higher heat/burn for instance brake cleaner or methanol. Just a hint if your having troubles...
Thats slightly miss informed information. Better fuel wont clean carbon build up on pistons and there is a reason for this, this is due to certain engines the way there manufactured run better with a carbon build up. I work on one manufactures engine that i know runs better with a carbon build...
Well from what you posted all of this is normal for a 182. Mine is leaking from the cam cover and its only sealent theres no gasket hence why it leaks in the first place.
You was rite to get it done with a timing belt change due to the cam cover holds the cams in place on these engines. As for...
Did you take the car for a 5 minute drive after replugging in?
Dials reset after power disconnected for a period of time, unsure on how long this is for renault but there power source would be constant from the battery connection.
Cars now days all run low voltages in the background they draw...
Depends on how its been tested it usually states on the printout that its flywheel or at the wheel, i also know the tighter you strap a car down the higher the readings are this it not done practice btw and its due to putting more force on the rolling road.
Sounds about rite to me, these cars cant really be tunned slightly to make a big improvement.
If your looking for big bhp and torque figures your need to look into turbo or supercharger failing that to bring it to the 200 mark it ITB's or something.
I would check the fuses first then i know there is an issue with the resistor pack on these cars and it sounds to me more like you have this fault but its worth checking the fuses anyway.
If you do a search on either here or cs on resistor pack will give you more of an idea where to look. I...
Im not sure if renault do these separate or not however it may be easier just to get one from Clio Spares for cheap and get them to post it. Here is there website would recommend calling them though.
http://www.cliospares.co.uk/
There pretty easy to fit i took mine off just to clean around...
The top mounts and the cup that they sit in on the sachs are the same as the 182,cup and the 172 phase 2 im not sure on the mk1 however you will have to check the codes on eibach website as i no longer have there booklet to hand to check codes but im pretty sure they should be the same there...
In all fairness you cant go lower without compromising in something, If you want a lower spring set up then go for the mark fish spings either that or eibach sportlines.
Other than that a harder yet better handling you would be looking at coilovers.
If its to be used on road use mostly i...
Do you have a spare key ?
The immobiliser can only be programed though diagnostic equipment with the security card to hand i think on that vehicle. If the key has fallen apart check the chip is inside the key if not start hunting.
If you took the dash apart for some reason check the transponder...
The gunk they provide goes like a liquid in the tyre and sort of seals areas leaking however if you get a puncture and its still drivable i would suggest getting it repaired rather than sticking this stuff in it its not nice stuff.
Just thought i would mention its a bit random but my dad went...
With the power your going for a standard clutch would handle this no problems, the standard renault unit is a valeo kit and the after market valeo unit i exactly the same other than not having the renault stamp on the clutch plate.
If it was me i would also consider a sachs kit, iv used them...
The RS2 would be interesting with a supercharger however having not seen the manifold would it deal with higher pressures? The other thing to worry about is internals if your leaving it standard i think that kind of power would be a tad worrying on standard equipment. As for routing pipe work im...
Speak to Sir_Dave he has 15" alloys fitted to his think he was looking for another set of team dynamics 1.2, he's on here and on cliosport.
The main reason people change to the 15's is due to the tyre prices there about half the price, its worth keeping in mind the weight of the speedline's you...
Oh just thought i would add if your getting magnecor leads go for the best the red ones i think as there slightly bigger in size no point spending money on the blue ones when there's a better set for not alot more money.
Looking good just wanted to check you not forgotten about the clutch, has the new engine got one fitted? if so is it good condition and not contaminated.
If your new engine clutch is in good nick make sure you replace old release bearing while your there with new one.
If the new engine don't...
It comes straight back mate well mine does as i unplugged my lambda sensor put a plastic bag over the connector and taped it up out the way so water ingress don't happen. I think the only way your going to get rid of the light is get a spare lambda as the old on in my cat is solid and i don't...
I have also heard that the water pumps are rather good.
As for the aux belt i had a timing belt kit done on mine by the garage i bought the car from, they didn't do the aux belt kit at the time, now i fitted a kit 3 months down the line due to a noisy idle pulley which is supplied in the kit...
I did think about taking the other side apart and measuring i was going to do this with the track rod end.
I think what i will do is heat it this weekend at work then go from there, the only reason im doing this is due to the steering wheel being out and wheel alignment needs setting up. The...
Hi people im after technical knowledge here, im in need of a axial joint aka tie rod and tie rod end for the Trophy.
Its for my n/s due to seizure and im contemplating in heating to free it off then grease it up after cleaning but i know this is not done practice.
I called Renault today and...
Good to see others lending a hand and im glad your looking into another engine, just a tip when taking the head off jack under sump with block of wood then remove engine mount once done stick a block of wood between sump pan and subframe on o/s your see it once the wheel arch is out the way...
I can see your point on the 9k situ however you got to think about how much its worth selling it for on once its done and the profit over the cost of stripping as i can assure you your be left with half the parts from the car where there just not needed unless you sell spare bits to someone like...
