Try putting copious amounts of copper grease on the back of the pad.
I must admit in all my years of owning clio's, ive never had a squeak out of DS2500's!! Just remove the shims, copper grease them up & away you go ... CL's are however, noisy buggers.
Sarcasm will get you everywhere as a newbie
I assume that Ben's one is definitely gone then? As it was sold, 'pending collection' last time i looked. Which doesnt mean its gone necessarily.
Just buy an espace v6 airbox, does exactly the same, for £50.
Sorry to hear this, i had a similar situation whilst at uni in my 306 Rallye, ended up with a 10 mile car chase to the nearest police station - safest place to get to i thought!!
Re: the parts, there's plenty of 1*2's being broken on CS at the moment, unfortunately most of my 182 parts are now...
Well, your Trophy can already keep up with 911 Turbo's up to 150mph, so id assume that with the manifold, Veyron's would be easy meat, & 200mph+ a real possibility
All proper info in here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9710&hilit=jms+group+buy
Imagine trying to run a busy service garage, build a race car by 6th June & finalise/fit nearly 30 RS2 manifolds (most with cambelt changes as well) over the next 4 weeks and you can probably imagine how busy they are.
They're good guys, but they cannot work miracles.
Not sure yet, not many weekend ones around at the moment, & dont have many holiday days left!!
Tempted by Bedford early in July at the moment, just need to persuade a few mates to do it as well.
After trying to buy one for years!! I finally managed to get my grubby mitts on an MSV cage, so I trundled off to Oxford services on Saturday morning, & came back with a shiny new toy.
Reason for getting a bolt-in as opposed weld? Well, I wasn’t happy about having buckets, harnesses and no...
Nah, definitely no wax, thats probably the sunlight catching the swirls
I had planned on claying/machine polishing it if im entirely honest, but the lure of going for a drive was too great!!
Is it me, or can you only see half the pics as well #-o
Essentially, on Saturday, somebody parked their rather clean looking Trophy in our car park next to mine, the gf noticed & said, 'that red clio's really nice'. After then explaining to her that it was a Trophy, just like mine, & that under all the dirt, they were both exactly the same colour ...
Nice shot!!
I'm continually amazed at how much bigger modern cars are than previously, ie your Trophy looks bigger than the mid-size hatchback of the eighties (the Delta).
Check out my fleet from last year, the Golf is the size of a small house, whereas the Saxo makes even the clio look huge...
Martins? ie the main dealer?
I would imagine that if the engine fault is a result of their negligence, they should have a case to answer for!!
Will pm you in a mo :)
Dropped a valve, just after having the belt done?
Where did you get it done just of of interest?
And where are you based, so that i can best advise you of a course of action :(
Edit. As you are based in Guildford, i would recommend JMS (Chertsey). Pm me & ill give you Tom's number.
Apologies, the earlier picture was of the front Sachs damper (i copied the wrong link from my photobucket), i've now removed it. The rear damper on my Trophy is as follows:
The correct part number for the rear damper (as previously posted by the OP) is 8200 519 954
However, it is highly...
Surely it is common sense to renew the rear suspension at the same time as having a front rebuild!!
Otherwise you will seriously changing the characteristics of the car; fresh/hard damper on the front vs. soft. buggered ones on the rear #-o
I have been led to believe by a few people in the know that it is the same as the rear cup damper, just with the addition of 'Trophy Tax'. My receipt for a fitted pair at £350 would certainly suggest that lol ...
