Elsewhere, a friend bought it in the end i think - he'd already had the car up for sale on other sites and had one buyer drop out at the last minute, so I thought I'd put it on here to give him a hand!
It's an S1 he's gone for, but your right very different from the Rallye - he fancied a...
An ex collague was also allergic to nuts. He steered clear of anything that said it may contain traces of nut, but would chance it if it said "made in a factory where nut products are handled".
Last time he ate nut by accident they were about to send out the air ambulance to collect him!
Yep the Rallye was a motorsport homologation version of the Mk2 with 4wd, supercharger and wide arches. Not many were officially brought into the uk, so a lot have been brought in since. The colour is probably a bit brighter than current VW trends (steely greys, blacks etc) but it's still an...
Just putting this up for a mate.. if you are interested contact him direct through his site, or PM me and i'll pass on his details. A lot of work has been put into the car - as the text says it was rebuilt from a rolling shell. He's after £5500 - no offers.
What is it with nature trying to reclaim our cars at the moment? I just returned to my car to discover I've gained a snail bonnet accessory. Not exactly as glamorous the spirit of ecstasy is it?
Not sure what it's trying to say about my driving mind you...
I got called a w*nker by a dog walker... so I blipped the throttle and dropped a gear (without speeding up). Childish I know, but it made my day knowing that it will have driven into a fit of irrational rage
Seriously though, I do think a bright red hot hatch seems to attract a little...
Just noticed on one of your 'trader ads that you bill yourself as the UK's leading trophy reseller...
Shouldn't that be the Worlds leading Trophy reseller?
Blimey Gareth - they're a lot cheaper than I expected! I wouldn't mind having a bit of a nose around it before you sell if that'd be possible sometime. :D
I get that feeling, which is why mine is still totally standard. However the one exception I would make is the exhaust - particularly for the orbisoud. The 182 stock exhausts aren't well known for their longevity so it'll need replacing before too long, and an exhaust swap can always be returned...
a/ Yep, the sachs will be expensive to replace, and short of sticking them on a damper dyno I'm not sure how you'd tell they have deteriorated, unless they are obviously leaking. They can be rebuilt so the prospect is not nearly as scary as it may have been!
b/ never tracked mine so I'm not...
I've just suggested this to Nik. I'm not sure whether he can make it so all the mods can approve/deny membership or whether it'd all go through the admin (ie Nik himself). I have a feeling our genuine member signup is somewhat overshadowed by spambots at the moment...
noodle/hoolio - Yep, been getting mine serviced at jaybee - they seem pretty good for a main dealer. Noodle - Is your mate one of the youngest salesmen there? - i was talking to him when I picked the car up and he said a good mate also owned a Trophy.
Mine knocks a bit in cold weather but only at low speed manoeuvring - just the top mounts I think. Yours definitely sounds different if it happens at speed.
Do you guys both take your cars to jaybee? Seems a bit of a trek form you? Just had mine in last week for its 24k service!
