Hi all,
I need to get some pads and discs ordered this week and when looking i have come across these performance friction 97 pads, i like what i've read about them but was wondering if anyone on here has any real world information on them.
Two things i've read are that they are messy pads...
After smashing mine on friday i've taken it off this morning and once it's of the car the money renault want seems even more insane!!!
I'm going to try and repair mine today, it's split clean in two so i think i might be able to do something with it if not i'll be haggling my best at the parts...
Hi all,
After having a little bump with a rabbit I'm in need of a front splitter, i really want to keep the car as standard as possible so i don't really want to go down the carbon route (although i'd be interested to see a matt carbon one just to see how subtle they look)
So has anyone got...
Yep i'm still in crowborough, my friend is the owner of http://www.sprtuning.co.uk/ they charge £15 per wheel to fit tyres they haven't supplied, you can trust them 100% to look after the car and not put a single mark on your wheels. Top guys when it comes to tuning/bodywork.
Mytyres were the cheapest about 4 weeks ago when i got mine.
Their website will also tell you where your nearest fitting centre is too.
Think i paid about £93 delivered (got a friend of mine to fit them)
I've driven loads and pretty much every type r and i am a HUGH fan of them but i do feel the trophy is a equally as impressive car, very very different cars in my opinion though. both will still be talked about very highly in years to come thats for sure.
Yep unless you know where to feel for it just remove the airbox find the sensor and give it a firm push back in place and you'll probably find it cures it, all my experiences with sensors has been dodgy connections, never a faulty sensor.
Chris, What are the mounts you've fitted? I've been meaning ask if anyone has any experience with uprated mounts, i've been looking at the k-tec ones as they claim they are no different than the oem mounts when it comes to vibrations. I'm not after them as a upgrade in performance terms i'm...
Just read Hazzers article in EVO and he mentions it was his offside damper that was the worse one, this was the same as mine which i found a little odd as this is the side that probably gets the easiest life, lest road grime/salt and less potholes to cope with?!?!
So out of who has had their...
Depinned-On the front Sachs dampers you have a adjustment knob (red dial on top of the remote reservoir) with which you can adjust the damping, from renault these are locked "pinned" with a grub screw. Depinning is simply the removal of this so that the dampers can be adjusted.
2 all as my view is the same as marrows, this is the second thing i picked up on when i was starting to think the dampers were not performing as they should be.
The first thing i picked up on was how the car was really pulling and never really settled into a corner.
The second was how the...
When i fitted the new gaiter i did notice it is ever so slightly stretched when in reverse, at least it's not an expensive item! I was quite surprised how cheap it was actually.
Well i've just been out for a nice little spirited drive on the new shocks, I can't not begin to describe how much better they are, i think mine must of got bad over a long period and i've just got use to it (apart from recently when the car really began to wonder)
As BenG has said mine have...
I had a chat with Ben at BG over the last few days, he reckons he's seeing one set of trophy dampers a week at the moment, he also commented that the vast majority are having issues due to corrosion, mostly from salt, so maybe time/with this last winter has really hit the dampers hard.
I've been...
Welcome,
Funny that as i when i was looking all the good ones seemed to be right up north/scotland and i'm on the south coast!!! Always the way!
(trophy)
Yep they fit spot on, the only slight issue i have is that only the drivers side has velcro to keep it in place.
If i can find the energy i'll go take a pic or two and post up for you.
