Very true,I just have a Mini and a 205 Gti. I did come close to buying a Trophy about 5 years ago up North,but it was just too much at the time. But I'm still dipping in and out of here,lurking 😉😂

I believe there was another one down towards the South of the country but I think that is now for sale with a dealer. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make my way over to Scotland yet,its on my bucket list though. I'd also need a car that was able to live up to the challenge of those roads...

Safe to say there aren't too many Trophies on Irish soil I'd imagine. You will be able to enjoy some of those great driving Scottish roads on the way over and back 😉

Collecting Cars must be coming pretty close to having as many Trophy's listed as this site 😁

Very nice example,it must be well up there for one of the longest ownerships as well. Just at a nice mileage as well so the next owner wont be worrying about putting mileage on one they are reluctant to drive. I dont think it will be for sale too long either,good luck with it.

Jesus any Trophy owner would nearly need to add a wing onto the house to store all the magazines the Trophy has been in over the years 😂 Look forward to reading this issue. And that is another car for my dream,imaginary garage Nick,a DC2 Integra 😎

Man,you'd imagine the damage could be repaired by someone willing to buy the car,especially at that sort of mileage. I might have missed it but does it mention anywhere what actual damage was done to it?

You've probably driven more cars in a few weeks than I've driven my whole life Nick 😉 I have a hankering for a nice R129 SL500 in something like Ruby/Almandine Red on AMG Monoblocks.

Yeah I think anything outside being used as a weekend,quick blast sort of car might not be ideal for everyday use. Most people want that feeling that an Elise provides but they also want some semblance of ease of use and a bit of comfort etc.

I dont know if this qualifies as most people might consider it a bit more extreme than a Trophy but are there any Elise owners on here? I have always wanted to try one but it's never happened (like a lot of cars unfortunately). I would imagine something like a 172 Cup is a little bit more...

Can you imagine the reactions and looks you would have gotten in 2005 when the Trophy launched that if you had said that one day it would be worth over £40k. Crazy crazy times indeed.

The Megane Trophy-R seems like a bargain at £29,750 compared to the rest of the prices for the other hot Renaults.

I had forgotten all about this auction,just went on to CC to see the prices. Sweet Jesus,that is some Trophy price!! Whoever bought it really wanted it,best of luck to them and I hope they drive it and enjoy it.

What a nice bit of history there GPH. When you think of these huge manufacturers building heritage fleets and buying cars to put in them,I never thought it would be down to a small group of people to manage it. I guess you have to have that extra level of enthusiasm for a manufacturers back...
