Same here mate
Mine already have some rust on them - and i used silver hammerite as well...
Just one other thing that i forgot to add to my post above, Water seems to collect at the base of the spring platform where the tin work forms a natural 'well'. I drilled a small hole at the...
I recently fitted the powerflex dogbone bushes to 084. When fitting the RS192 i noticed an awful lot of movement in the original mount. It wasnt damaged or broken/perished in any way, but i presumed it had been causing the drivetrain shunt i had been noticing i.e. gearlever moving too and fro...
I thought id post up a piccy of my front shocks as they were after BG motorsports refurb and a 'Tractor' TLC session of paint and general attention! The main point is after removing the cracked old clear plastic spring protectors I wanted to replace them with something- assuming they stop noises...
Well harvest has nearly finished so ive been able to work on this problem. I have taken the exhaust apart and sealed all joints with firegum. I looked like there was a very small leak coming from one of the joints. However the problem has persisted and nothing has changed :( Im going to get a...
Im not that close to cambridge but i really need one of these and have been holding off since ive had the car because they are such a rip-off. :x
Would still be interested in a group buy tho.
The orange lamp for the fuel level is there merely for the purpose of informing the driver he/she has achieved maximum power to weight ratio. :D
P.s. I seem to somehow manage 31/32 mpg on average.
It's the horseshoe clamp, it has two 8mm bolts + nuts and you can give it some real welly. It clamps the cat and rear section a treat. I had the same problem with the exhaust hanging low and stressing the joints. A new conical cat sealing kit and this £6 clamp from reno fixed it!
Mine's just ticked round 28k. Ive had a right mission since ive had the car to seal the exhaust in the cat region. In the end ive fitted new exhaust mounts right through, new clamp and new conical sealing kit on the cat too.

This and the...
Hello mate sounds like youve got a similar problem to me :(
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7641
It sounds like mine's an exhaust related problem, but i havent found time to investigate it yet.
Well my feeling is that it's engine related too. I could understand the exhaust being at fault if it is badly leaking and farting and blowing but it's not anything like that.
Another point worth mentioning is the very lumpy idle. It has been lumpy since i have owned it but it seems much more...
Ha Ha well i followed jonc's fitting guide and i offered the exhaust up to the car and trial fitted it without sealant, but it seemed such a pain just getting it there and it seemed to fit quite tightly so decided to clamp the bugger up and give it a go. Maybe there could be a small leak. But...
Ah I was going to but I couldn't be arsed to be honest - i'd already waited three weeks for it, i wasnt going to wait for them to send out another one. Also the exhaust goes under the car and i knew id just forget about the dents anyway. life's too short an all that.
Hi all
Ive just recently fitted a cat-back RS192 and ever since the engine doesnt run properly when cold. At 1000-2000 revs when gently accelerating i.e. 10-20% throttle it pops and farts and doesnt want to go at all, but when the revs get up to 3ishk and above it springs back into life. this...
Just another couple of ideas- although japanese. (You seem to like your crout motors!!) :D
1) My choice - Honda S2000. Infinetly tunable although expensive. Amazing engine - rev heaven. Can be picked up for 7-8k. Oh and unquestionable reliability.
2) Nissan 350Z - heavy but im sure they can...
I'm doing a track evening at brands on monday and i'd like to make sure im running near-enough the right pressures.
At the mo i'm bunging-in 30 psi all round as cue suggests. I would do a few fast laps, come in and let them back down to that. But what really is the best pressure for a trackday...
Paul i had this myself and ive now fixed it. It was a badly fitting bonnet switch at fault. The easiest way to find out on yours is to push one of the door/bonnet/bootswitches with your finger and try and lock the car. dont worry about the door/bonnet/boot being open as the car will think it's...
Wasnt me, although im often about that way. Spitfire I remember reading you were thinking of the scorpion exhaust, have you gone for it? If so how do you find it? I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and am still waiting :( :(
I read that slowly and thought omg how much time do you think that would take
Ok ill have to get some wax now. It could be the answer to my prayers. After polishing my cars previously ive found that the finish only tends to last a few weeks and then im back to square one again. A pretty...
I'm interested in detailing but i dont really have the time for it! However i need to try this waxing lark for sure, hopefully it might make the farm dust wash off a bit easier!
I will give the Dodo juice a bash. Is AG SRP ok as a polish beforehand?
Yeh it sure is, 6930 autopowr + autotrac...
I must be retarded but i thought polish was wax?? :? :?
So are you saying that you should polish once a year (ie AG super resin polish), and then wax every month etc.
My father used to be a london fireman and he told me about their stories of polishing the engines constantly, and has always...
Well thanks very much for your input fellas, ive had a slight change of tack since i started this thread, ive decided that a slightly louder exhaust wouldnt hurt so i have just ordered a cat-back RS192!
I'm impressed with the level of development that appears to have gone into it and the clips...
My shocks were rebuilt by BG recently.
The offside was worse than the nearside, and you could feel the offside of the car bouncing more than the other on the road.
