£15 a corner for fitting is quite steep but i guess there isn't much else you can do. I can often get them fitted for £5 a corner, or even free depending on the mood of my contacts
Yeah i'm local in west kent. I do almost everything on the trophy myself, bar the tracking, tyre fitting...
I'd always wanted one since they first came out, i just had to wait for them to get down to an affordable price, to then spend £2k in the first year on keeping it in tip top condition
It's only around £800-900 for bilsteins or H&Rs, i'll fit them myself then get geo setup & possible corner weighing.
ASTs or similar are a bit more but that's to be expected!
£280+postage+vat absolute minimum for front damper refurb(if all is ok which i don't think it is), so say £350+
£300 for...
Fed up of my broken trophy suspension, i'll need to get some temporary suspension to use while the sachs are up being refurbed at the front, and i'll have to shell out £200-300 for some koni or sachs rear dampers.
Then i think, why not just chuck some bilstein or H&R coilovers on...
I've used camskill loads of times, only problem is finding somewhere that will fit tyres that they don't supply.
I'd recommend trying chessington tyres in tonbridge for the tyres, they're my preferential choice for tyres, balancing & tracking.
All sorts of noises really, it was ok if a little clunky over really big bumps & potholes when i got it 10k ago, that was definitely a balljoint noise, at least the steering felt right and it was great to drive. I only drive it to work and back and the odd weekend blast, commute to see bird etc...
Seeing as one of my jacking points has decided it wants to bend slightly, i'd recommend that you use the subframe for axle stands!
My car's getting worse, had some dodgy noises coming from the suspension past few days, need to get some 182 cup dampers to put on for a while so i can take the...
As the rear has trailing arms in theory the geometry won't be affected at all providing the ride height stays the same.
Motorsport world quick code: 83240
Should do the job.
Yeah i think it sounds like i do. There's no visible leaking but i've heard of stories on clios where the rear dampers break up inside and almost seize. And i know the fronts are really due a refresh as my car's on 50k now.
Thinking of replacing the rears with koni adjustables as i've read of a...
Any news? My car has been doing something similar on and off.
The tracking had been out since i got it, but it drove great on wet or dry roads. Gradually the wishbone balljoints went so i fitted new wishbones & got the tracking done, it felt very different, and great in the dry for all of two...
Good stuff!
Got the toe settings done this morning, even better still. Feels weird, like a totally different car.
Just gonna take a good few weeks at least for the tyres to settle, as they will have worn slightly unevenly due to the tracking being out. Oh well!
Well i fitted the new genuine renault wishbones today, and it's a million times better, in fact better than it has ever been since i've had the car!
As for fitting them, it's a bit of a ballache, the worst bit is getting the old pinch bolts out, they rust in solid, i spent about half an hour...
Discontinued probably!
To be fair the GSD3s look like a better every day tyre, the michelins aren't amazing in the wet although you could do a hell of a lot worse!

I prefer the normal shots. We will do much better next time, hopefully more of the club will turn up too, so less pesky saxos! Have to admit they are pretty handy on track though.
Will be doing moving shots...
Seriously though, it's like covering your paintwork in cling film, the paint will get chipped, scratched and fade, the seats will wear! I reckon the alcantara should be good for 100k/6yrs+ and how many of us will still have our trophys then?
I probably will but then i'll get some new trendlines...
Only a few shots were done with the fisheye, rest were wide angle.
Yeah we had a meal at the old stables in fontwell and went on to goodwood for some pics, lighting wasn't great as it was nearly 4pm, we'll have to try harder for the next shoot and get out earlier!
Has a Shed Motorsport shoot today. Not a massive fan of fisheye but then the photographer is...
Few other tasters:
Dunno why i ended up at the back
My handling is deteriorating rapidly :(
Going to phone renault tomorrow to order a pair of wishbones, won't have a chance to fit them till next weekend but will inspect the dampers and suspension for leaks and loose bolts etc. It's not been apart since new, and since i've had the car, it was...
Mine does it more after long distances. At the moment it's only doing it when parking, after long drives it does it while pulling away too.
To me it sounds like some sort of rubber bush. But it's also accompanied by a definite knocking noise from the balljoints.
I'll post in here when i've...
I'm not fitting solid top mounts  I do around 20k a year mostly on back roads so i think the extra road noise would annoy me. I have a track car that i can make extremely uncomfy and noisy, clio stays standard(ish)
So, bushes, you mean the anti roll bar ones? Sure i can stretch to some...
I know for a fact that the wishbone balljoints need doing, i'm just trying to persuade myself that spending £130 on a pair of wishbones from renault isn't ludicrous, after searching endlessly for the balljoints on their own...
I will do them as it's a pretty simple job, then if i'm getting...
Only way is to whip the wheels off, measure disc thickness and have a look at the pads really.
Mine were a state when i got round to them...
Who needs discs anyway?
Which bushes mate?
I'm replacing both wishbones with new renault OE ones, tempted to get some renault track rod ends too, will get top mounts. Then i need to get the cambelt done and the engine mounts, and get the front dampers rebuilt, and sell my kidneys...
I get a deep creak/groan sort of noise when pulling away. And no it's not the ABS system, it does it whenever pulling away from a standstill. Only started this week really, and i think it's related to my worn wishbone balljoints.
Normally i'd think engine mounts but it dunno. Anyone else had...
