    Dealers For Cambelt Services

I'm a big fan of Mick at Diamond Motors, too. Total confidence in his work and attitude - so much so he's doing a few 'little' jobs on #165 for me shortly. https://diamondmotors.co.uk It's usually best to contact him via the contact from on his website (or phone call).

    172 cup only 17,000 miles !

Yes, it is a shame. It's definitely a car that should be enjoyed and seems a little 'out-of-place' in his collection to be honest!

    172 cup only 17,000 miles !

I believe there's a 172 Cup with 13,500 miles on it in a collection that my good friend looks after... however, that will likely never be sold and I don't think it's even been driven in the last 5 years (other than turning the engine over and keeping it fresh and maintained).

Has anyone been able to offer their services / Trophy for this yet? I'm sure there must be one or two in that area who can help...?

Nice - good to see #193 is being used! :) Sounds like you had a good time out there.

    Brake discs and pads

Totally agree with Claude - i.e. have a word with George at RTR. For fast road I went for the common Ferodo DS2500 pads with plain Brembo HC discs. As long as you remember that they need a bit of heat in them to work optimally then they are a good combo in my opinion. I'll say again though...

Sounds dodgy, Kelv. I'll take it off your hands for 1000 sheets. Can't say fairer than that! ;)

    Reproduction original Sachs decals

@Crook #73 Hi Elliot - it might be worth taking this conversation offline or to private message (and to ask admin / moderator to remove your details from your last post). It's better to be safe than sorry these days hence I would recommend keeping your personal details as hush-hush as possible...

    differences between trophy,182 and 182 cup ???

Go for it! :) Personally I'm inclined to believe what the RenaultSport technicians in Dieppe said when asked about it on the factory tour :) Even so, I'd be interested in seeing some hard evidence so somebody break out the micrometer!

    differences between trophy,182 and 182 cup ???

^ Yep - the 172 Cup had thinner glass on the side windows to save a little extra weight :) The Trophy and 172 Cup also had different windscreens as they did not have the solar reflective coating found on regular 182's.

Trophy for sale in West Midlands or North West area?

Hi Cameron, welcome to the site. I'm sorry to hear about the cancer, something I can very much relate to given the last few years as well :( Hence I will start by sending you my very best wishes and, secondly, wish you good luck in finding a suitable Trophy. I believe a few are for sale at the...

    Exhausts.

People tend to get rid of the standard exhausts... :tongueout: They are heavy, and can fall apart with a bit of abuse! I would recommend a custom full stainless steel with high-flow sports cat - e.g. like something ProSpeed in Cardiff would make. Oh, I have for sale a ProSpeed full stainless...

    Camber bolts, "Eibach".?

Ditto the above... a mild -ve camber is great on these cars (and on the Type-R, although nobody really cares about that!) The only minor drawback I found was tramlining on major roads where heavy vehicles have caused a slight deformation in the surface; whereby the lightweight Clio can sometimes...

    Braided brake hoses, recomendations needed.??

You can't go wrong with Goodridge or the HEL lines really. I've always preferred the Goodridge (on all cars) and not been disappointed.
