Speaking for myself, and perhaps the OP too, getting someone to make a closest match possible is what I had in mind. I certainly don't expect Renault to be of any assistance for a one-off unique sticker.
I wonder if @DaveS can offer any support?
My renewal with Greenlight would only agree the value at £6.5k so I've gone to Keith Michaels.
More expensive premium but agreed value more aligned to my requirements.
At the end of the day, if the replacement engine has been serviced correctly does it make a huge amount of difference?
I mean, my Trophy may have had an un-documented engine change prior to my ownership and it hasn't (yet) proved detrimental to me or future owners.
Just to update this, I have received confirmation that the plate will be going into the very next timed auction in Jan-18.
I've been informed that I should receive automated e-mail prompts at the time, but I've also set personal reminders so there's no chance I'll miss out on the opportunity to...
Just had a quick scan on PH and AT and there's just a single Trophy for sale, unless I've cocked up the search parameters.
I don't look regularly but I can't remember a time when pickings were so slim.
Anyone else, or does it happen annually on bonfire night? ;)
If you do get a replacement engine fitted, just make sure the belts are done on it.
Where in the world are you?
It's a terrible situation but it's recoverable, and I'd imagine you'll take more of a hit selling as is than you will sourcing and fitting a replacement F4R.
All the best
I enquired about a plate in November 2016, they told me they'd confirm when it would go into auction, they didn't and it went in the one that's just finished.
I assume nobody placed a bid - I certainly didn't because I didn't know about it.
I'll try and get hold of someone to discuss next...
Not for me, I just don't see the demand, kudos or cult status when compared to something like a Clio v6, which has all three in abundance.
Just because Renault made small volumes that doesn't necessarily make it desirable.
https://www.citywheelrefurbishment.co.uk/20-wheel-deal
I've taken 8-10 sets there over the years but none have ever been damaged or special enough for me to look closely at any repair work so I can't personally comment on that side of things.
The quality is a LONG way off a decent paint...
I'm picking up a couple of sets of wheels from city powder coaters tomorrow.
For £20 a wheel I can afford to have them done twice a year ;) The downside is their palette is rather limited.
I wanted a specific shade of silver. My choice was sparkly or not sparkly.
It's for the other weekend...
Search for "RenaultSport Clio Trophy Club" then request to join.
Until your request is approved I don't believe you'll be able to see the post.
If you're not on Facebook at all then there's nothing you can do, other than ask someone who is to help you out.
Car covers are bad for your car. But without a garage it's which is the lesser of two evils.
I use one to protect mine from tree sap, bird poo and the like.
Go into it knowing the risks and you won't be surprised.
Mine is a Stormforce cover, worth checking out.
That depends what 'best' means.
I'd get in touch with George Snee on Facebook, Cliosport.net or via his website (RoadTrackRaceParts).
Let him know your needs and budget and go for his recommendation.
I imagine it might be Ferodo DS2500 pads with Brembo HC discs, or even an OEM-spec pad.
You...
I assumed that included the original bill of sale ;)
In all seriousness I'm not sure what demand levels are like for a modified Trophy like this, albeit with things like Vibratechnics mounts and PMS STMs, both of which I'd have no hesitation on putting on mine.
Starting price of £7k??
No point keeping a car just for the sake of it, especially if it's more hassle than it's worth. If you get no enjoyment from driving (/storing) it then I'd say release it to the market and realise some of the capital to fund the other 8 insurance policies ;)
As for value, stick it up for £10k...
Mark Fish is wrong!
The camber change has a marked impact on the road - a much sharper and pointier front-end, really incisive and confidence-inspiring, I love it!
Doing the limited mileage I do I'm not aware of any cons whatsoever. It's a yes from me.
