    GOOD NEWS - Sachs Rears

As I understand it this manufacturing run is the end. Once they've gone, they've gone. That said the quantity manufactured was supposed to be quite high, but I've no clue to how many pairs relates to quite high. Buy 'em when you can if I was you.

    GOOD NEWS - Sachs Rears

Just purchased a new set of rear dampers to keep as spares. Got them from Renault Wolverhampton. I called Stirling Renault and on speaking to the parts department they said they wouldn't accept orders of over £200 without seeing the card being used to make the purchase. Therefore they cannot...

    #289 - progress thread

You don't see many with the original exhausts these days. Nice looking Trophy.

    459 lives on.

All very good of you. A pity he wasn't there. I bet those bar-stewards at the insurance firm didn't give him much more, if anything more, than you paid for it. Hateful people.

    459 lives on.

So the one stolen from SW London was recovered. I'd have thought the police would have offered it back to the original owner Keith. Strange that he didn't buy it back when found. ~35,000 miles and owned by him from new. Unless it had been crashed/used in a ram raid as soon as the cops called me...

Full Set Of Sachs Stickers (Last Set)

Are these stickers not simply part of the refurb from BG in Silverstone? Presumably if you go for the upright overhaul and repainting they put a set on for you. I suppose £50 is cheaper than having the entire upright taken back to metal and resprayed.

    Low Mileage Trophy's ?

I'm aware of a 14,500 and a 17,000. Both perfect and as they left the factory. Bar wiper stalk and tailored mats kind of stuff.

    Unloved snotter

Renault London West. Original dealer plates were Renault London City. It had a Haringey parking permit on the inside of the windscreen.

    Unloved snotter

Saw this at a Renault dealership this morning. It was still on Sachs all-round. Wheels and exhaust also all original. Inside it was tatty. Melted wheel, no matts and dirty. Still got original dealer number plates front and rear so likely undamaged. It was covered in moss/mould though and looked...

Car numbers 285 and 422 for sale.

A man after my own heart. Looks like YH55 doesn't have a front splitter. All the best with the sales and great that you've kept them clean and original for the next owners.

    Suspension geo settings.?

I'd therefore keep it as close to Renault intended. Geometry is a complex science that is challenging to optimise without significant quantities of testing, good knowledge/advise, and a great feel for your own car. Sounds sensible to me. We probably all lean on the front a lot and find the...

Full Sachs Set Up (Front & Rear)

That set could be a good buy for someone. The front damper on the right of the first and second picture has no gas in the remote reservoir though. You can see the canister has dropped onto the bar that attaches it to the main upright. Signifying no gas pressure. For £550 someone could have a...

    Alarm internal sensor disabling.?

Most of the forums have more knowledge and quality of understanding than Renault themselves! I'd probably trust a forum more than what 99% of Renault owned businesses puff my way.

PX55 UCL what number is it?

Ouch. Looks like that's understeered rapidly into something hard. I'd not be touching it with creases in the roof. Wing, cosmetic sill, wishbones and bumper all easy enough to replace. Needing a new subframe could be OK, but roof buckling is a whole world of pain. I doubt that chassis would ever...

    Alarm internal sensor disabling.?

For a Clio III system the instructions claim one can 'deactivate the ultrasonic volumetric sensor to prevent alarm being triggered if you wish to arm the system with the windows open'. With the door open, you insert the key card and within ten seconds withdraw it, insert it again and withdraw...

    SharkyUK's Trophy - #165

Honestly, I don't mind a little caustic banter toward those that ask dumb questions without doing any research. They are usually fine about it and get the information they require. Granted sometimes the responses can be heavy handed from some users, others less so, but that makes up the balance...

    SharkyUK's Trophy - #165

Children, can you please stop winding each other up? We all know you both have significant knowledge of the Trophy, whether that be parts, modification or simply overall tenure of ownership. You perhaps have differing opinions of what's helpful to other users. That's fine. This forum is, most of...

    Ashers' OEM+ BG Trophy Project

Mild detergent being the operative word. Don't use Fairy Liquid or detergents with lots of salts for grease removal. They will weaken the belt. A bucket of warm water and mild soap, perhaps something used to hand wash garments. Certainly not hardcore biological washing powder with...

    GOOD NEWS - Sachs Rears

Err, not quite MarcR. We all appreciate your efforts and success in driving this new manufacturing run. Borne out by the fact Renault seem to have provided your set to you in gratitude. Thanks again for all the effort you put into keeping Renault honest.

    GOOD NEWS - Sachs Rears

What do they look like? Are they the grey coloured units with Renault Sachs (now ZF) stickers on them? Or are they the black coloured units that have been delivered to other forum members, and have been pictured on this thread, that have Renault ZF stickers? If they are either I would say they...

    Ashers' OEM+ BG Trophy Project

Great research re the ball joints and lower arms. That manufacturers evolve models and use (probably) as many transferable parts as they can over decades wonderfully exposes the profit and margin chasing they indulge in. Putting the dimensions to one side do you think they are of the same...

    Renaultsport MK2 Clio V6 255 - £17,995

The date stamps on the prior posts are 2007. With no activity since, until your enquiry. I'm not Sherlock Holmes, but I'd say it's an old advert.

    Another Clio Trophy Wanted!! :(

Ah, a pity. As always a question of right place, right time. I'm sure you'll find that Ming vase at the car boot in the end. Did you happen to get the build number? If so it can be entered in the owners register if not already.

    Another Clio Trophy Wanted!! :(

The one in N. Yorkshire with 47,750 miles looks clean and straight. From the photos it looks completely standard. No build number given. They want £6,250. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/renault/renaultsport-clio/renault-clio-x65-renaultsport-182-trophy-16v-------2005/4351970...

    Ashers' OEM+ BG Trophy Project

Interesting conversion. Great colour, love black cars. As the correct Sachs will be available soon from Renault are you choosing the Koni's due to cost or because you want the variable damping adjustment they provide? Have you managed to track down a V6 spoiler yet too?

    Slam Panel Rubber Seal

Fair enough. Yes, yet you never know if a PM might elicit another run due to demand. Worth a try. A pleasure. Looks like you should be successful with the group buy over on ClioSport. Fingers crossed.

Michelin PS3. Best place to buy?

I agree. I only seek Michelin to keep the car OEM. It's more garage queen than track slag. Other toys in the cupboard to get the speed kicks from. In my experience Michelin do stick like *hit to a blanket though, but wear fairly quickly. Sticking some Yokohama A539's on my 106 Rallye back in...
