TBH I've only spoke to Ben a couple of times and found him to be very helpfull each time. However he seems to have very good ideas which he starts but never follows through. The most recent example of this is with the super cup inlet manifold. If you have a search through cliosport you will find...
The adaptor would have to bought from ktec, I'm not sure if its available seperately but TBH the most restricive point of the exhaust system is at the rear of the cat where it drops to 2", the sports cat still has this restriction so IMHO it's a waste of time.
If your determined to have a cat...
First off make sure it's all the same diameter 2 1/4", as ktec have all their own brand exhausts done by janspeed so you could end up with a mis match.
As for fitting it's relatively straight forward, the bit you refer to regarding the sports cat having a different fitting to the mid section it...
Don't worry mate it's taken me ages to get to the bottom of it and Identify the problems, Ktec still haven't worked it out.
As such I've removed and sold Ktecs full conversion and am building my own.
Needless to say it should be quite impressive when it's finished. :D
Sure can, basically the turbo set up has some flaws and only seems to be able to flow a maximum of 12psi positive pressure when the engine speed exceeds 5000rpm on wide open throttle.
As such my top end is some what pathetic as the boost has dropped from 20psi.
It will give a maximum of 280...
I'd never really thought about the torque differences in the lower rev range so I just compared Pauls 328bhp Supercharged clio against my 267bhp Turbo clio and the torque readings are quite interesting
At 2700 (both graphs start here) SC= 130 Turbo=150
3000rpm SC= 160 Turbo= 170
3500rpm SC=...
Throttle bodies are always an interesting choice, the only downside is that when you want to take them a stage further the only additional mods (cams/headwork etc..) you can fit move the power band further and further up the rev range which is great on track, but for normal road driving could...
Off the shelf conversions I'd take RStunings supercharger kit as you get 250 bhp and don't have to go to the hassle of stripping and rebuilding the engine.
Or if your a bit switched on, build your own turbo kit, as with the aid of a boost controller you can have a lot more flexibility by...
Ben just get a motorbike and use it for trackdays, it'll cost you half the price of getting a track car ready you can ride them to tracks so you don't have to piss about with trailers etc... and once you learn how to ride properley you'll be lapping miles faster than practically any car out...
Hoolio, stop being a softy.
RTOC is easily the best forum I've ever used, it's almost bell end free and the fact that most people run 5's means there of a mature age and you don't have to suffer the same drivel you get on cliosport.
TBH most of the lads are super switched on and any problems...
Mate I've got them on on mine (Ktec group N mounts), I figured it would be a sensible upgrade with the extra grunt of the turbo.
I've had no issues with them what so ever and would highly recomend them to anyone. One thing I did notice is my exhaust tailpipes don't bounce up and down half as...
I did actually comment in one of your threads on RTOC with a comment along the lines of "what you really need is a turbo trophy, now that would be awesome ;)" but it was a bit subtle and you didn't pick up on it. :D
TBH whilst I do appreciate that the Trophy is a bit special you wouldn't...
As a few people on here know last year I was the first customer to have Ktecs low pressure turbo kit fitted to my car. After a little while the turbo bug bit and I stripped the engine and rebuilt it using full forged pistons and rods as well as fitting a paddle clutch for good measure.
I'm now...
Interesting read mate and some thing I can relate to coming from a revo'd Ibiza Tdi 130, running eibach suspension 17" wheels and S3 brakes.
However I'm going to have to disagree with you in a few areas, basically the engines are gutless below 2000rpm when the turbo kicks in with an almighty...
