Steve - I was of a very similar mindset and have said for the last 6 months that I was going to keep 185 stock. Having piled on the miles since then, I have just developed a hankering for a bit more of a bark when pushing on. As I understand it, the blueflame (and the Janspeed) are both fairly...

Don't know whether anyone else has spotted this yet, but you're looking at a hundred quid off if 20 peeps put there hands up for one.
I'm gonna take the plunge as I don't think I can stretch to the Orbisoud!
I've got a splitter if you want it? Never fitted it to my Trophy as I thought I would just take it straight off again on a speed bump.
I'm down in Brighton, so would happily meet half way?
I don't know what market value is, so has anyone got any clues?
Just spotted another 05 plate in Brighton. Around the Surrenden/Friar area. Seen it quite a bit recently, but only ever parked up. Don't know whether they've found this site yet, will let them know if I see them about.
I struggle to get anything over 28, having said that it's almost all fast b road or city driving. I'm actually really pleased with it. The C2 VTS that I had previously struggle to get much more than 26mpg on the same runs.
I do have a bit of a tendency to enjoy the gears though! Still...
Hi Harry,
How about a Williams v 172 cup v 182 cup v Trophy v V6 in a future issue? don't know whether this might be a bit too specialist for the majority of readers, but with the amount of clio owner/enthusiasts out there I'd have thought it would pull a few non subscribers in too!
Just...
Having driven both (I've got a trophy, best mate has a pre face lift 03 CTR) and been out for some decent drives we've both agreed that the trophy definitely has the edge when it comes to cornering and general steering feel. It depends what you're after though. the CTR definitely pulls a little...
Was parked up outside the Tin Drum at 7Dials about 11am this morning. Saw it slow down as he clocked mine, looked a hell of a lot cleaner though! Could this be yet another Brighton Trophy?
Me for one mate. I'm glad I made up a stupid name for the forum cos I'm Olly as well and it might all start to get even more confusing otherwise.
Either way, the wipers are a hell of a lot better than on my old C2 VTS. It had pretty much the whole options list on it but the auto wiper/lights...
On this point, when you have the wipers on continuous (I'm still on the original stalk) they actually move to a proper intermittent wipe when the car is stationary after you have driven for a while. They then revert back to continuous as soon as you move off again? I can't understand for the...
I think that's probably the case, the manager of the garage thought that by whining about paint and door at the same time though it might help on the door front. I think I'll see what response I get from Renault. As you say, prob not worth a full respray as you do have to look for it to notice...
Think I'm just going to have to take it to the dealers and see what they can do. It's definitely not as bad as yours Nik. Ouch. Worst case then I will just have to live with it. As long as you push down as you close the door then all's well.
On a positive, I went in to Tates Renault in...
Pulled up outside a restaurant in Brighton on Thursday night, and my fiance went to open the passenger door and had it literally wrenched away by the wind. It was wet, and freezing, so didn't check it out until yesterday.
Basically the door still closes, but it doesn't quite sit right. Feels...
Aodonovan, I Parked about 100 metres from you last night mate, just round the corner from Gala Bingo - can't remember the road. Went to that restaurant on St george's Rd. Nounou. Very nice to. Was going to try and get a pick of the cars together, but the weather was shite!
I'm guessing it...
The day I picked my Trophy up I got home to find an SP30 in the letterbox. 7 years and not a single fine and then caught doing 36 in a 30 in my C2 VTS. Thought about appealing, but it was 2 days before crimbo and just couldn't be arsed.
Kind of killed the excitement of having a car that could...
I'd definitely look at a Cat back set-up. I'm not looking for something loud, but it would be nice to have something slightly more purposeful.
What's the price on a system from ProSpeed? Does switching to a single box system have any pros/cons over the standard set up?
Wouldn't mind the...
Had some bloody stomach bug myself over the weekend, but kicked it now.
Think I'm going to leave mine standard aswell, although might be tempted to get a PHY plate if funds get any better over the next few months.
Would probably help if I took it out of 2nd and 3rd occasionally so I got...
Vernon goes on to say that
"compared with the Clio, the 206 also has a better cabin, more versatile heating and ventilation, some useful computer info and nicer (and bigger) wheels. I also think it's more handsome." Evo 03/04 #65
Sounds like he's a bit mixed up for sure as none of the...
Sounds good to me, nice road to see whether you can avoid grounding the chin on the way out there as well! It's sodding bumpy if you get stuck on the left!
Have had a couple of nice runs up and around the dyke, although coming off the roundabout on the A27 I have noticed the boys in blue...
Sorry mate, my mistake on the plate. I'm also not sure how I ended up on the map in Kemptown. Probably messed up the coordinates. I'm just off by the old rover garage on the London Road. It still amuses me no end when the little turkeys in saxos, 106's etc try their luck. I see some kid every...
Was flicking through an old issue of Evo over the weekend, and saw another letter from Vernon singing the praises of the Pug 206 180? Basically saying how nice it was compared to his old 172, so I guess he's changed his mind again!
That was me indeed buddy. Same, I got a bit excited about seeing another Trophy on my usual route. You wouldn't happen to have parked in Friar Crescent a few times would you? Got a couple of friends that live on the road and have seen an 05 trophy a few times but not for a month or so.
Where...
Not on MSN, had a few weeks off recently to look after my old man, but back at work this week.
Wasn't me you saw against the Nova! I wouldn't waste my time with such small fish! Did have a good blat back from Gatwick yesterday though. The guy in the 300ZX seemed pretty cross that he couldn't...
I got LM05 ZXX, live around Preston Park area. Still haven't seen a 55 plate in Brighton yet. I quite often end up round Burgess Hill way though as the missus works at Amex up there.
