Great find! This has got to be my new favourite induction kit for the Trophy! :D
They have them listed on the Green website for £206 - a lot cheaper than a Maxogen! They only list it as being for the 172, no mention of 182 although I have always believed that the two had very similar OE...
Not sure about what camera would be best, but the mount I use is made by http://www.stickypod.com/
It is relatively cheap and easy to use, and I have no complaints about it at all. Never tried attaching it to the exterior of the car though, not enough faith!
If I was in the market for a...
Give Yozza a shout, I am sure I have read on other posts that they have trckday tyres in stock.
Also have a look at the RS2 from Hankook, come recommended by one of George's hill climbing buddies and only £60 a corner from mytyres, and they were on £56 a corner recently...
George is...
What do I think?!? =P~
I've got similar plans, but I've had to put everything on the back burner until after I get married!
Wheel wise I would be tempted to go for 15's as the amount of tyres availble is far greater and are much better value than for 16's.
With...
Sorry Cue, but I've got to disagree with you! :P
I found the Trophy brakes were not up to serious trackwork at the two trackdays I've done at Bedford and Brands. At Brands in particular I was experiencing real issues with fade from about the 4th lap of each session. However they did survive...
Spotted a Trophy in the Esso petrol station on Friday night/Saturday morning at 1:30. Was in the girlfriends Williams on a late night munchies mission!
Was going to ask about number etc, and say that I have 351 at home, but I am never sure what the reaction will be so I wimped out!
Welcome to the forum! :D
I am sure most of us have experienced high premiums when we were younger, I paid £1,200 when I was 21 on a 106 Gti, so around £2k for a Trophy at 19 is pretty good, it's your money after all so you can do whatever you like with it!
Great vid just published on the Evo website - the R26 looks like a serious bit of kit, resists understeer so much more than the Golf - http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/trackdayvid ... sport.html
Rouge Vif - 727, and I think the part number for the touch up stick is 7711 144 194.
Someone posted a spreadsheet with all the Renault paint codes on this forum a while back, may be worth doing a search to be sure. :D
Hello Gazza, welcome to the forum! :D
Not heard a bad word said about Steve at allvehciles, so I think you've done the right thing getting your Trophy from him.
I guess these wheels weren't put on a Trophy which would explain the difference in tyre size, I always thought the 172 Cup ran on 195's...no excusing the Falken's though!
Doesn't suprise me! As we have the spoiler from the V6, we also have the shorter gas struts from the V6, and I presume economies of scale mean these have a higher cost per unit. Hope they are covered under waranty!
Great work donkey, very reasuring to know that someone in the know is looking into this! :D
I've spoken to another suspension specialist about the rebuilding of the Trophy's front dampers, and they would do the work in-house, but having the rebuilds done by Sachs themselves is a big plus point.
Springs maybe, but shocks have a little Sachs sticker at the bottom right hand side of the Renault sticker. If anyone has access to the Renault parts database it would be handy as we could check part numbers...
That looks so good - like new! 8)
Perhaps it is time I hung up my polishing cloth and accepted that there are better ways of keeping my Trophy looking mint...
It's a bit of a lottery though, you would have to use the same RR and in the same conditions to ensure that the figures would be accurate.
The point I am trying to make, which is highlighted by all the low figures that the Surrey RR returned, is that you could go to a different RR and make...
Welcome back! :D
Am I right in saying you used to own a 172 Cup? If so I met yourself and your dad at the Janspeed RR day last year.
How are you finding the switch from the Cup to the Trophy? What's your dad moved onto now?
Classic video featuring on board footage from the Nurburgring. The music and commentary on this video is something else! :D

Pure class! The bravery of the old boys is something else. Tracks lined with trees, no real crash protection, so different to the world we live in now.
On track, or when I am out enjoying my Trophy on dry roads it's always off.
When I am just pootling around or in the rain it's nearly always on, there are some rainy days when I just want a bit of a challenge/fun so it gets turned off.
Apologies if my previous post was a bit aggressive, I was just interested to see what the std 182's made on the day. :)
With hindsight, the figures of other cars don't really matter. The only way to truly tell how effective the mods have been is by testing before and after figures for the...
