Marc, are those the re-valved Koni rear dampers that Mark does? If so, count me in for a group buy. I'd read on here they were much more expensive than that.
There's quite a noticeable difference between the Skoda splitter and the original Cup one. The Skoda splitter also needs some modification to fit, and still, never quite looks right (in my opinion of course).
That's good to know, thanks for sharing Marc.
BG refurb'd my dampers and they are still going strong after 4-5 years and I'd estimate at least 60k miles. I thought they'd failed a couple of weeks ago but on removal it turned out one of the springs had moved out of position.
Nearly 106k here. Currently clocking up 2k+ per month in my T - it's just about to have its third service this year!!
Think it's time I bought a second car for work....
The mounts make such a difference don't they... Mine were in a similar condition to yours and I noticed a MASSIVE improvement in throttle response, handling and even braking!
The standard 182 cat is already a 200-cell sports cat. I doubt you will see any gains from one of K-tecs sports cats and even if you do, they won't warrant spending £300....!
Personally I'd buy a genuine OEM cat second hand off eBay / ClioSport.net. It will cost £60-£80 tops. Whilst it's off...
What's the effect on handling?
I'm not really bothered about it being lower (arch gap FTW!), just looking for something that will improve the handling.
So, my dampers are well and truly in need of a refurb :(
Whilst they're off the car, I thought I might as well collect some bits to give the suspension a bit of an overhaul / refresh.
I'll be replacing the steering rack bushes, ARB bushes, track rod arms and boots, track rod ends, lower...
Yep - i've just fitted one and it has caused some increased vibration/rattles at idle, but the improvement it offers in terms of driveability more than makes up for it.
Doesn't bother me personally, but I can see why it would
How much are you selling the OEM ones for Matt? My current ones are only around a year old, but i've been considering ordering another set to hold onto just in case...!
Yeah, pre-cat lambda sensor is most likely the cause. Definitley nothing to do with an exhaust / remap.
You could always find yourself a friendly MOT tester
Cheers hoolio.
They've already been done once but they were nothing like the original colour. I was devastated when I picked the car up this morning. Thankfully they have agreed to redo them at no additional cost, I just hope they come out ok this time.
BUMP...!
Getting mine refurbished and really struggling to find the colour code.. any help greatly appreciated.
Edit: Wet paint code is what i'm after if you have that one Cue?
