I hope he has been in the gym while awaiting the car to be finished then 😁
No,I just have the 205,no Trophy unfortunately.
The 205 has been away since September 2021 so I've just gotten it back.
I intended to just get it repainted but that soon escalated....🙄
Yes I believe the newer Integra is far easier to live with day to day,a lot more accommodating overall.
Christ, your friend must have the neck muscles of Lewis Hamilton, that thing will shift with an engine like that 😯
Nice reviews.
I never thought of the DC5 as having those over steering tendencies, seems Honda liked to carry that family trait over a little bit at least.
A few friends had DC2's and they definitely liked to bring their rear ends around, especially if you were caught out and lifted the...
Oh and in the picture the car is actually sitting on a pretty steep hill, even though it doesn't look like it.
So the rear looks to be sitting a bit lower than the front, its a bit more equal on level ground,of which there isn't much around me 😉
Thanks Nick, much appreciated with that offer but theres no need for that.
I have a few dusty old bottles myself 🙈😂😂
Theres a few detailers here that have pretty good reputations so I'll just quiz them up and see what transpires.
It seems anyone you talk to who had one back in the day,soon...
Can I ask why you had to get it redone Sharky?
Topaz would have a very good reputation,so I believe anyway from watching some of the YouTube videos from there.
Unfortunately I'm not that well connected 🙄😂
I have already spent way,way more than I originally planned,so I'm probably leaning more...
Thanks for that reply Sharky.
No unfortunately it's not for a Trophy,just a 205 Gti.
I have gotten a figure of around €2k for ceramic coating the car and putting PPF on the front end.
I was sort of expecting something in that price range.
To be honest a big part of it for me is the hardship...
Just said I'd ask this question on here as I think there might be a few people who have put some PPF on their cars.
I have just got my 205 back from being painted and I've been thinking of maybe getting some, the front mostly or all of it PPF'd.
Just wondering for those who have put it on their...
Really appreciate that reply.
I guess there is always the chance that two apparently, exactly the same specced cars
will have slight differences and variables in how they both perform.
Maybe one was made on a Friday while the other was thrown together on a dreary Monday
after having a good...
Great post as usual photo_ed.
Since you have owned both,I've often wondered what are the differences between
the Trophy and the 182 Cup?
Would it be safe to say that a Cup provides nearly as much driver enjoyment as a Trophy?
Apart from CC,is there many other places that would be good or better to use?
Like TheMarket by Bonhams or similar?
Since CC seems to have become the default site now, people selling probably think it's the best option as it probably gets the most traffic from potential buyers...or not maybe?
Agree with you there photo_ed.
It might be an opportunity to pick up a really nice, but higher mileage example at a more decent price.
Rather than going head to head with buyers who are mostly concerned with the lower mileage stuff.
If this is the way things are going, it might have some potential.
But no doubt the road going version will end up a lot different compared to the concept.
Thats what usually happens anyway.
But no matter what they eventually produce, trying to keep the weight down will have
a big influence...
What a cracking car there Nick.
I can see the owners logic there...since there would be damn all boot space for the shopping,he would have to do about 20 trips.
And surely if you owned a car like that,20 reasons for a drive wouldn't be much of a hardship 😉😁
Great stuff, they would be a great car to try in another few years when or if,
good old depreciation does its thing.
But so far, they seem to be nearly immune to losing money.
That probably says a lot about them, they are still held in very high regard.
Could be a good buy for someone in Ireland as they will have far less import taxes/Vat to pay
since it was in NI before (I'm guessing) Brexit happened.
Yeah I sort of get the feeling CC has lost a bit of its lustre this last while alright.
It seems it has become a very competitive market place, between the more traditional
auction companies/houses and I've also seen another new venture called CarHuna that is
about to launch now soon as well.
I...
Now that you say it Nick, I think those pictures were from a dealer based in Lisburn.
I went to see a Trophy, probably 6/7 years ago and it only had around 16k miles and
his back yard looked very similar to the one in those pictures, with the high walls.
Not to appear completely down on their trade but bodyshops do appear to
be very hit and miss alright.
I've asked people I would trust about recommending bodyshops, some have been
as described while others have done a half arsed job.
It just seems you get either a decent/good result or a bad...
At least you have a good group of lads who you can trust to do a proper job on the car Nick ;)
Thats another thing that you have to deal with when restoring/working on a car...
finding someone you can trust and hope they will do a good job.
Bodyshops/Painters especially, bloody nightmare, most...
In me experience (admittedly limited...) I think when it comes down to it, to restore a car properly now is just
a never ending hole for money.
Even more so when that restoration needs what are now some very rare and hard to get, ie expensive parts
to do the car right.
Even with the huge price...
