How did you find living with the DC5 and the S2 Elise? Was it a standardish Elise?

Oh and in the picture the car is actually sitting on a pretty steep hill,even though it doesn't look like it. So the rear looks to be sitting a bit lower than the front,its a bit more equal on level ground,of which there isn't much around me 😉

Great post as usual photo_ed. Since you have owned both,I've often wondered what are the differences between the Trophy and the 182 Cup? Would it be safe to say that a Cup provides nearly as much driver enjoyment as a Trophy?

Agreed,that red bar/section between the rear lights makes such a nice difference on the C4.

Apart from CC,is there many other places that would be good or better to use? Like TheMarket by Bonhams or similar? Since CC seems to have become the default site now,people selling probably think it's the best option as it probably gets the most traffic from potential buyers...or not maybe?

Agree with you there photo_ed. It might be an opportunity to pick up a really nice,but higher mileage example at a more decent price. Rather than going head to head with buyers who are mostly concerned with the lower mileage stuff.

If this is the way things are going, it might have some potential. But no doubt the road going version will end up a lot different compared to the concept. Thats what usually happens anyway. But no matter what they eventually produce, trying to keep the weight down will have a big influence...

What a cracking car there Nick. I can see the owners logic there...since there would be damn all boot space for the shopping,he would have to do about 20 trips. And surely if you owned a car like that,20 reasons for a drive wouldn't be much of a hardship 😉😁

Great stuff, they would be a great car to try in another few years when or if, good old depreciation does its thing. But so far, they seem to be nearly immune to losing money. That probably says a lot about them, they are still held in very high regard.

Now that you say it Nick, I think those pictures were from a dealer based in Lisburn. I went to see a Trophy, probably 6/7 years ago and it only had around 16k miles and his back yard looked very similar to the one in those pictures, with the high walls.

In me experience (admittedly limited...) I think when it comes down to it, to restore a car properly now is just a never ending hole for money. Even more so when that restoration needs what are now some very rare and hard to get, ie expensive parts to do the car right. Even with the huge price...
