    Uneven Tyre Wear

Typical then? I can't remember how evenly or otherwise they've worn in the past.

    Uneven Tyre Wear

Any takers generous enough to check their tread depths across the front for comparison please...?

    Uneven Tyre Wear

How much difference between left and right do you tend to see? My front left is at around 2mm but the front right is 3mm. I'll be due an alignment but it's never that obvious visually until one gets properly close to the wear markers.

    Tyre choice

Fronts are needing replaced soon (sooner than I realised at that!) and probably going to stick with PS3, as curious as I am to try the Continental Premium Contact 6 I don't want to be the canary down the mine in case they're on the soft side.

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

To add to this, Jane at BG has confirmed you'd be about £480 for a basic re-seal etc. PLUS £140 if you want them powder coated.

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Cooksport did get back in the end- 'We can refurbish the Sachs dampers. They are £112.50+VAT each to service and powder coating is £50+VAT each. The turnaround time is a couple of weeks, due to the coating. As you rightly say repairs are case by case, but parts are now very difficult to get, as...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

I was looking at cooksport based on a post further back, might phone as I've not had a response from the enquiry box on their site (a pet hate of mine, why have it if it'll just get ignored?). Cornering force are who you're thinking of and who I'd want to use but recent comments on their...

What was the going rate for them these days?

All quiet here! Surely someone has done there's in the last 12 months.

Are we going to be in with a chance of taking the Win - Get Voting

Bear in mind there are a lot of votes for cars that the voters haven't driven, myself included. If it was titled 'favourite' rather than 'best' there would be less contention. An Evo group test would be more conclusive.

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Anyone had theirs done recently? I see a few comments on the Cornering Force facebook page suggesting trying to get a hold of them is a bit of an issues at times now. Tempted to go with Cooksport as an alternative.

    Rust

Cheers all. I've no idea if they used anything in particular on the plastics although I did replace the section that's at headlight level a few years back as the original was faded.

    Rust

I don't think mine ever had this in my ownership. Apologies on the lack of update, there were a couple of minor things I wanted Protek to sort- nothing major, a couple of shut lines were a little off and a window surround seal was a little kinked, Cannot fault their customer service though and...

Another Trophy hit's the Market at over 20k

Given I'll have splashed over 7 grand on mine by next month, long may this continue!

    Rust

Cheers. The inner arches were an eye opener as well. Kev (Gally on cliosport) said the fuel filler area was a bit worse than expected but the rest of the inner arches were actually fairly typical! Suspect all but the most pampered garage queens might have hidden areas behind the main...

    Continental Premium Contact 6

Off the top of my head that would have been the Sport Contact 6 on that Civic.

    Continental Premium Contact 6

Has anyone tried these? The name seems to bely the fact this isn't really a touring tyre and is in fact very capable. I've had Michelin PS3's for a while now but might give the Premium Contact 6 a go next time I'm due a change. I'm aware we aren't spoilt for choice in our size when it comes to...

Looking for Renault Specialist in Scotland

SWR are an absolute no-brainer IMO, Michael there is brand new. I've been using them for the major stuff since I got mine in 2014 and that was travelling all the way through from Carnoustie and now Stonehaven. Open Saturday mornings as well which is handy for drop-off/collection without having...

I left that to Protek. Car is booked in for early December.

Coming soon No310 on Collecting Cars

If I had gone to the effort of taking that many high definition photos I'd have paid someone £50 to valet it inside and out.

    Rust

I say this as advice from experience (and ignorance of thinking Renaults will forever manage to avoid rust). Try and get the undersides of your cars properly protected by someone who knows what they're doing. I'd been used to BMW's of the early 2000's (e46 and e39) so was familiar with common...

FML SWR are saying it's the Beru ignition leads I originally supplied!

    Low RPM misfire

SWR were busier than expected so it's booked in for 11th July. No change for now and it's parked up doing bugger all.

    Low RPM misfire

No luck with the garage. They've done a load of fault finding, swapping injectors, compression check etc. and can't find anything. They hadn't replaced the o-ring I supplied though, despite me asking to change it and the owner is becoming a cheeky prick so they can get fucked from now on...

    Low RPM misfire

Are you meaning a different part when you say metal gasket? You've listed the o-ring part number there as per the photo you posted further back.
  29. Patrick Bateman

    Low RPM misfire

Is that o-ring definitely the only seal/gasket worth checking at this point? Away to order it and want to check there's nothing else worth a shout initially.
