Mine is on 38k - garaged and only driven once a week at best and never in the wet, but its true having looked for a trophy this spring there are very few low mileage ones for sale, those that come up usually sell that day.
My first mk1 172 had this - I was told it was because it was an import, something to do with and area to put a toll pass (toll roads being very common in Europe) where it can be easily scanned without the window tint interfereing.
Im guessing here but I think it might have had a windscreen...
just done my car with Dodo juice orange crush - stripped of the Autoglym HD wax it had on and the difference was obivous.
i just bought one of those sample pots for £5.99 - theres enough to do the car at least 3 times - not bad i think.
Basically can anyone recommend somewhere to take the Trophy for a service in the North East?
i dont mind a bit of travel to get it to someone who actually knows what they are doing.
last friday we took the wifes new Meagne in for its first service (at what is now newcastles only Renault dealer)...
tried to remove the black plastic incert on the rear bumper to clean the dirt around it properly but cant get it out.
i looked under the bumper and i can see a row of clips that i think hold it firm but after poping them in it still seems to have a hold somewhere else.
anyone know exactly how to...
glad to hear the wheels are back on order, i spoke to the UK speedline guy just 2 weeks ago and he said that Renault were still stalling on ordering a new batch.. especially after a thread on CS said they were officially discontinued.
You can send jeremy townsend a pm through the official renault sport forum...he ususlly replies,
Or just ask on here ?
Failing that I might still have JT at RSUK personal office phone number....might
i had a R27 at the same time as my 1st Trophy (the R27 was the wifes)
the R27 never actually felt like it had that much BHP, the power delivery was totally different to the trophy, and it had a terrible flat spot around 3000rpm (i heard removing the centre silencer resolves this???) of course...
In 5 years time when the average 100k trophy is worth maybe £2000 who other than the true enthusiasts will want to spend £750 just to refurb the dampers let alone shell out for a new pair - if you could get them!
Same story at Speedline - Renault haven't ordered any Turinis this year (possibly longer) and have run out of stock (even in France)
no plans to order any in the future either...
when you remove the plate its most likely you will be given the original 55 plate to put back on, or they will give you another 55 plate - the original 55 plate will be no doubt mentioned somewhere in the paperwork...maybe on the service book?
then put the private plate on ebay and take what...
Take the private plate off - cars never sell well with private plates (especially the prefixed "make your own" ones)
photos of back seat / receipts / boot open are pointless - replace with photo of engine bay, good photo of drivers seat, rear end (boot closed)
"shouldnt have big bills" - no...
The 197 wheel is really nice to the touch, they need the extra Renault sport trim at 6 o' clock to set them off.
Smaller radius and much thicker than the 182 wheel.
