i polished a seagul dropping mark out of my old trophy with the meguires "fine scratch" remover. it took like 30 mins of rubbing but the results were good, other than that a machine polish should do the job.
Nimbus metallic seems to be a much harder paint IMO, seagul droppings dont mark it like...
Now thats interesting...because i had a conversation with Jeremy Townsend @RSUK a couple years back...he told me, or rather admitted that there are no records at either RSUK or the Alpine factory in France regarding which trophy matches which VIN Number... and lower VIN numbered cars dont...
back in November i a look at a Trophy for sale at the Arnold Clarke Ford main dealer on Scotswood Rd - Newcastle Upon Tyne.
up for £7500 with 40k on the clock - Reg SM55 FUV - aparently came from a scottish dealer
Described as "mint" by the clueless salesman when i went in... however it was'nt...
this sounds like the car that Arnold Clarke Ford main dealer on Scotswood Rd - Newcastle Upon Tyne.
had in november, it was a complete dog and was missing the plaque of the drivers seat as well as having shot dampers... was the reg SM55...?
have a look at my original post...
another "1 post wonder"
try CS mate they love that 5hit on there....
but just remembered you need to pay to sell cars on there (membership to CS)...oh well
cant say i ever really noticed any torque steer in my old trophy, 172 or R27.
worst torque steer i ever encountered was in my mates old G40 polo, that would have you in the other lane if you werent ready to catch it...
i'm someone will suggest things to look at though...
I had a rattle just like this on the passenger door of my r27 for over a year before I found it. I even drove for weeks with the door card off trying to track it down. In the end it turned out to be a small plastic cap covering one of the hinge bolts. it could only be seen when the door was wide...
i kinda thought it wouldnt be you with the missing liner...maybe hes half way through a acoustic valve removal ?
i know of 3 other trophys - 1 in gosforth, ponteland & westerhope
"bounce" sounds just like mine before the dampers were done...in my case only the offside had gone completly, i messed about with tyre pressures and the like but it was the dampers all along...
yeah the one on my R27 is loose too ( although its mounted on the left of the inlet manifold) i asked at the Renault garage during a sevice - they said they're all like that and its normal.,,,but what to they know ? lol
