I've driven both setups, like i said previously I wouldn't ever go back to the standard sachs rear shocks again, a number of other users run the same combo Sachs Fronts, Koni Rears and Eibach Sportlines, it is most excellent, felt so much better being able to turn the rear up a little bit over...
I bought mine from larkspeed for £177 delivered, i believe Claude bought his from the same place for a similar price, theyve been on over 12 months and i've had no issues with them, Koni seem fairly reputable in terms of shocks and reliability, think they came with a 5 year warranty but im...
182 Cup Rears are far far too soft for the job! Either standard sachs or adjustable koni's would be the best way to move forward, i have the latter an can honestly say i wouldnt consider returning to standard sachs rears
I would echo SJ and suggest replacing for sportlines all round, i think it feels alot better than the standard springs and sits a bit nicer too.
The adjustable Koni rear shocks are also a worthy upgrade over the standard sachs rears.
Rear springs dont tend to fail from what i've seen, seems...
Since swapping my springs over to sportlines I now have 3 front springs!
Selling the best condition 1 of the lot, done around 40k iirc, pictures on request.
I know most people replace in pairs but might be of use to someone on here as a spare if one of theirs suddenly fails etc.
Make me some...
Lets face it, if you can't get hold of one its not exactly going to take long / cost alot to get a vehicle graphics company to knock one up is it? You could get a copy of the OE one made and just stick it over the top if your current plaque is tatty!
Better off with a respray or getting a second hand bumper sprayed and fitted, must be expensive for brand new bumpers and they'll need spraying after that??
There's an adjuster on top of the external reservoir, they're pinned in place from the factory so will need to be de-pinned, i think its clockwise for firm / anti clockwise for soft!
The adjusters are the red bits on top of the reservoirs in this pic:
Cliosport.net is a good place to start, pay your £12 membership and you get access to the for sale / wanted / traders section.
The car parts for sale / wanted sections would probably be pretty useful too.
Wests Renault and Renault Wolverhampton are Traders on there and are probably the 2...
22 is the standard setting on the standard adjuster, not sure what the equivalent is if you get the upgraded adjusters from BG, I'm on 20 clicks at the moment but keep playing around to find a setting I'm happy with!
Check the gas pressure using a tyre pressure gauge on the valve and if its low get them gassed up and see how well they hold it, if they've not lost any oil they might be OK for a bit longer but chances are if its lost alot of pressure the seals will be failing / failed so will be worth getting...
I'd set it to standard ( 22 clicks from soft ? ) and see if theres any bounce, if there is its a good sign they've lost gas pressure, may be worth getting them regassed ( nitrogen @ 65psi )
Pretty much this, when they've failed I send them for a rebuild! My last one from BG Motorsport lasted 30,000 miles ish! Some guys have only managed 8,000 ,depends on condition and how you drive I think!
alacantara i just clean using a microfibre cloth and warm water, don't use anything else on them.
Alot of the guys on here have had success cleaning the seatbelts, easier if you whip them out of the car first, not sure where youd go about getting red ones from!
Good work, I guess as long as it fits over the damper you'll only have to modify the centre hole for the shaft! Keep us updated, could be useful if it works!
Mines got a ktec system and the boot floor definitely doesn't vibrate, I fail to see how it could what with it being welded in place etc, it its the floor itself that's vibrating I'd be worried that there's something wrong with the back end of your car! I'm inclined to echo hoolios idea of it...
Definitely worth it, he did an awesome job on mine then cars never felt better! I had a BG rebuild the first time, they're good and very fast but it is pricey! Cornering Force prices are very reasonable, powder coating is well worth it!
