You might find that Kam Racing are cheaper than George, but George's service, packaging, delivery and after-sales support is second to none and he may well price-match. Definitely worth asking.
George's website is http://www.roadtrackraceparts.com/ or he can be contacted via PM on...
Personally I wouldn't use a dealer for this job, I'd only go to a specialist who works on the F4R and its stablemates day in day out.
I believe Fred at BTM is no longer trading.
If Dan Potter at SJM in Glastonbury is too far, and if Mick at Diamond Motors nr Nottingham isn't an option for...
You have a few options including Autotrader, Gumtree, eBay and Pistonheads.
I bought my Trophy from Pistonheads and have sold cars there too, never had any trouble so that would be my first port of call. The key is a well-written advert - you can never include too much information, and for a...
Over 7,200 miles I'm at a calculated 31.43 mpg. The trip computer suggests an altogether different figure.
If you want a broader response rate there's probably a similar thread already in existence on cliosport.net. I appreciate it's not a Trophy-specific forum but most 182s share the same...
If you do a search for Cooksport / Sportline / Mark Fish springs you'll find some really useful info as it's been covered plenty. If you're still struggling then post up and someone will help out or point you in the right direction.
I've got the 2118s plus two sets of Turinis - the originals and a set with Cup-offset.
The problem is they're all wearing very different rubber plus I'm not sure I have the 'feel' or insight to provide a useful comparison.
You're right about the Turinis though, they're are a fantastic looking...
Hope you had a good weekend too my friend, it sounds like it was much-needed!
See you at the Action Day at Combe in early April? I take it you'll be there with the FF group?
Took a trip out to Wales, met up with fellow forum user 'Big Dave', and had a cracking weekend exploring some new roads and revisiting some old favourites. Here's a few pics of the weekend:
I have for sale a set of brand new Pagid RS4-2 pads that have never left the box.
I'd always wanted to try them as I've only ever heard high praise so I bought some (paid £200) but I'm now going down the Brembo 4 pot route so these are no longer required.
Happy to photograph the box and pads...
I run my AD08Rs on Speedline 2118s in 195/50/15.
Tempted to get some for the Turinis in 205/45/16.
As for winter use - I only drive 3-4k annually so not representative. I have bought some Continental winters which are currently on a spare set of Turinis but it never got bad enough to fit them...
If it was the choice between those two I would also go for the Michelins.
AD08Rs are a very competent tyre worth considering - that's where my money goes.
I agree with Mike - if it's a museum piece then I would, or at least fit it before sale to revert to OEM and sell to an OCD buyer.
Otherwise it's a no from me; based purely on aesthetics the pea shooters just don't do it for me.
Hi r0m,
I think it's too subjective a question as to whether you can run it as a daily commuter car. Sure, it can be done and plenty of people do, but we all have different tolerances to NVH etc.
I used to have an E46 330i Touring which was sublime - cruising up and down the motorway was...
I appreciate the OP's concern but it's a bit OTT, isn't it? Just pay via PayPal and you're covered, or is it not as simple as that?
Too good to be true? Not in my eyes - it comes with no warranty and is potentially water-damaged, but the price has been reduced to reflect that.
Worth a punt if...
Whichever route you choose it's going to be a compromise.
Do you favour outright performance on track, or comfort on the roads.
For me that's the choice, and it would be between Sportlines and MFs.
Best of luck
In case it's not too late go for the AD08Rs and sell the used tyres on eBay.
A friend of mine has AD08Rs on his Clio and the rears have done 14,000 miles (!)
It's often said that upgrading the speakers but not the HU will offer little improvement, if any. The stock speakers are actually supposed to be alright.
Step 1 - upgrade the HU
Step 2 - fit an underseat sub and cut the low frequencies to the speakers
Step 3 - enjoy
That's one route you could...
Hi Stu, welcome to Trophy ownership!
As covered already the two best known options are Jack at Royal or the man they call 'Snappy' who I believe can be contacted via the cliosport.net forum.
Regarding having your Sachs dampers refurbished, there is a comprehensive thread on this forum which...
You can drive as carefully as you like but you have no power to stop someone ploughing into you while you're stationary at traffic lights.
Greenlight offer an agreed value service with some cars in £6k+ territory.
I couldn't imagine the pain of dealing with an insurance company who think it's...
Hi Jordan, you've posted on a forum which is dedicated to the limited edition Renault Clio Renaultsport 182 Trophy.
I'm not saying you won't find any experts here but the reach is very small. You're likely to get more responses if you post on the cliosport.net forum, or the Clio Sport Owners...
Many people opt for Michelin Pilot Sport 3s but all tyres are a compromise, it all depends what your requirements are and what you're prepared to compromise on.
