A little update on #207
April: Rentech serviced the car.
June: Sachs removed for a re-furb and new Cup shocks fitted to keep it on the road.
July: New Renault rear discs and pads fitted with centre and edges sprayed to stop the rust.
Gearbox oil drained and re-filled with Elf...
You could try Renparts just mention the clio sport forum or join Cliosport and look through the classifieds there's always cars being broken or if you have to go with new Adam at Renault Wolverhampton's the man to speak to for a decent discount!
I once had a similar fault on a normal Clio which turned out to be the battery in the key not being strong enough to switch the immobiliser off! It was intermittent for a while then wouldn't start the car at all, might be worth trying.
Cheers for all the advice....I seem to have 2 choices at present Renparts 2nd hand cup dampers delivered for £68.50 they said that if i sent them back they would give me £30 back on them but postage would be down to me so hardly worth returning really or new ones at £95.00 delivered which I...
Thanks for the offer mate! Although I've been buying a set this afternoon with the idea of either keeping them or selling the on after!
Do the Trophy springs fit on the cup dampers or do you need cup springs as well?
Did you have your refurb done at cornering force?
Looks like one of my dampers has given up!
Just to check before I beg, borrow or buy it's 182 Cup dampers that will fit the Trophy while I have the Sachs re-furbed?
It's managed nearly 3 years and 14k since BG did them! which seems pretty good!
Cheers Pete
Yes it's worth a visit if you're not too far! Cross between giant showroom and a MB museum plus you can pay for hot laps in C63's etc or if you're feeling really flush have a go in one.
I took #207 to the Pistonheads meet at Mercedes Benz World. It got quite a bit of interest being the only Trophy there with several people taking pictures, 2 of which I managed to get emailed to me.
I've owned #207 since September 12, having owned #383 before, so its about time for an update.
The car was in excellent condition when I picked it up and only needed a few bits doing!
New exhaust mounts fitted and AeroTwin wipers on arrival home.
I had ordered new set of Speedlines from...
I've been told that's the Carbon canister making that sound! Might be worth investigating before the dephaser! I believe you can disconnect it to see if the ticking stops.
Perhaps we don't need to worry about Renault going in a different direction with the new Clio!

I have the SGS BMW 1 series struts which are fine! but they now show one for a Trophy (albeit with the wrong picture) and a different type for the normal Mk2 Clio. Might be worth calling to check before...
Only coming up for a year now! But I've had 2 in that time?
I've had several Renaultsports over the years amongst other much more expensive toys, but I really rate the Trophy! Their a great drive and shouldn't loose much money if you look after them.
