Me too. The R26-R was the car the new Gordini badge could have gone on. Plus they should only be Racing Blue - not much scope for customising, unless they want the Gordini stripes :)

To save ££s that's time well spent. My rebuilds have been 21000m and 36000m. Ben BG is doing OK on these, nice little earner one set a week!

Isn't it the tensioner that goes ping, sending metal through the alloy cambelt casing and taking out the cambelt, that is the reason the belts are being changed 36000m early? There are still Renault dealers out there who know nothing about this!

Offered an 11000m 2005 car yesterday and the owner sounded surprised the dampers might need a refurb. I think time as well as use will do for them. Good news for the future they can be refurbed.

There is a simple mod to elongate the hole in the inner wing. Voila! the noise will be gone. (paint around the hole though :) )

I think the wipers and brakes are more like 100% on a Trophy and the dampers will pass even though they are like a soggy Expression 1.2. Factor that little lot in and what comes out.. :)

Having just thrown away a few thousand pounds prepping the last few Trophy's I'd decided to eBay and trade auction them from now on. So you'll see what they are really worth from the selling prices. Beware anyone buying Trophys, there are so many coming up for sale with expensive prep required...

I'm now valuing Trophys commensurate with the cost of any prep. 36k + Aux Belt, Discs and pads, Damper debuild. That little lot could be £1250 before tyres, alloy refurbs, superficial paint, splitter missing etc... You can see why emphasis now on R26 / R27. Retailing Trophys is a charity job...

From a conversation last week when I had to do some, the price of genuine rear discs with bearings has dropped to a sensible price now.

Does the Cup need a stiffer chassis! Spec that with 197 style Recaros and it would be v uncomfortable IMO.
