I’d love to understand what fires people up to throw so much money at something like this. I’m presuming they are thinking at the end of the day when they have spent a bucket load more cash to get the car right they have a one owner car. Ok, if you got the car for £10k and threw whatever at it...
I had just about every Ford RS models out there in my early years of driving between 1978 and 1990. Mexico’s, RS1600, RS2000’s, RS1600i, escort turbo, Sierra Cosworth, Escort 1600 sport, Harrier. What a collection (and pension) I’d have if I’d kept them all
On the subject of the RSTurbo “white...
I wonder what happened to the original wheels and suspension then? It seems strange for such a low mileage car for someone to bin them. Are the replacement shocks the group buy ones.
No problem. Just for reference this is a pic what a brand new Speedline Turini looked like back then. They had just the 2 casting stamps wither side of the valve and the Speedline decal opposite to the valve on the rim.
The later speedlines were sold through Renault from around 2011 onwards...
Wheels certainly not original to the car. The ones on it are the later ones available from Renault which carry far more casting stamps. They are genuine but not ex factory fitted.
Nice car though, well presented
I think you’re spot on with your assessment there. The car looked nicely maintained and I think someone has got themselves a good car at a good price. I do think with the other car though that people weren’t blinkered by the low miles, in the recent market a 55k car would have commanded a lot...
As I said much to the annoyance of Forbesy I think the hammer price for that car was bang on. It went for just north of £12k. Im sure the experienced and observant folk on this forum will understand that
Well yes, a mate of mine as just bought a bmw from Car Shop, by the time he’d got it out the door they had rolled him on finance, gardex, wheel insurance and warranty. His repayments nowhere near reflect the screen price 😱
Interesting WBAC are actually offering prices. If I’m correct their outlets are BCA or Cinch. I wouldn’t imagine either of those would be a great profit platform for that type of niche model
I will stick with my original comment I think it was bang in the money. Around £12k on the hammer and as I said the photos of the car no doubt helped buyers make an informed bid and demonstrates that it’s not all about mileage. There’s plenty of photos of mine on the forum if you want a poke...
I think the sale was bang on the money. Ok the mileage was low but the car looked well short of being a cared for example. That’s one good thing about CC you do get a good idea of the condition of the car from the photos and I think this probably helped potential buyers in gauging price.
I didn’t think anything needs to be said really. That’s one thing about CC their photo’s do tend to give a good indication of condition. I think it does demonstrate though how close together 2 cars 100k apart can be
I know what you mean Chris but in all honesty I don’t mind if it sells or if it doesn’t. I’m not sure what you mean by your reference to price and mileage, if you’ve been following the market it’s about what they have been doing . If anyone is looking for a car it only needs a PM and I’m happy...
It’s still here, one offer and an ongoing dialogue with another , although I can’t admit to being the most enthusiastic seller. I will admit it’s a scant advert and I’ve not listed it anywhere else. If the right buyer comes along and the car is attractive enough for them I will move it on...
Thanks Paul. I’m only offering the Trophy for sale on here. Although there is probably a wider audience on some of the FB pages I think I stand more chance of the car going to the right owner off this forum.
re the AG it sold a couple of months back. I’ve only got the Trophy now. I didn’t use...
