Lmao, brilliant thanks, small world hey!!
Had my fronts done in 2010 and had new Sachs rears fitted earlier this year (got them v cheap  ) and car handles well, just feel that everything else needs tightening up to suit.
Thanks
Some very sensible modifications there!
Have managed to get a powdercoated gearbox mount that is just lacking the poly bushes. Hoping this will 'tighten' everything up as car feels very loose and get a knocking when changing from 1st to 2nd and then 2nd to third. Have you noticed any immediate...

Always rocking mine to check for movement and nowhere near as much movement as yours tbh.
Wonder if it could be related to the washer that I have read on here when rebuilt by bg?
I'd run it in to a local garage to get it checked over as they should be able to determine where the noise is...
Hi Cue,
Thanks for the replay.
Seems more noticeable at lower speeds, have had a family friend take a quick look and he doesn't think it is mechanical.
Will get some new tyres and see how it performs after. Also noticed braking seems poor so tyres seem to be the problem for a number of things!
Left work at usual time yesterday and the Trophy just did not seem 'right' to drive.
Have checked dampers and all seem ok - rear replaced within the last 3 months. MOT also passed early part of July with no advisories so imagine they would have spotted any major 'wear'. Car seems very light...
What shits, complete waste of your time and money.
If you havent already had the glass replaced may be worth giving your winder mech a lube.
Hope it's sorted ASAP.

Boxed and becoming rare - perfect working condition.
Thanks
Windscreen chip turned to a crack (got the money back for excess from a haulage company)
Battery randomly went dead
Paint flaked off the central heater control panel
CV boot failed
Alternator bracket collapsed taking out aux belt (possibly garage liability)
That's it in over 2 years of...
Not too sure on the bleeding but sure ive read somewhere that you need the car running when doing it to ensure ABS pump is bled.
Did you do this?
May not be as not really touched the brakes on the T. Would rather pay my mate an hours labour as he owns his own garage!
Very similar feeling with mine and I am certain front dampers are ok (refurbed last year) also just had new rear Sachs
Dampers. Tyres seem to have excess movement so think I will replace them before the winter.
Have my MOT next week so hoping the garage will find anything wearing.
Think these...
Always feel this with mine, put it down to how I park (against a wall).
Could also be your tyres as found with mine they move quite a lot when rocking the car.
Genious find! Couldn't find the Trophy on there for love nor money!!
My boss at work told me about that site last week. Search for MG Metro Mosaic, only 1 left on the road!! (my mum always wanted one when I was a kid).
Frightening when you look at some of the old classics!!
No way an MOT would guarantee a good example as some centres would not look into the in and outs of a Trophy / 2.0 Clio.
Would check that the car has had regular services as per previous post as fresh oil helps, the dampers are another issues and would also check rears for leaks.
A previous...
Would definately check if belts AND Tensioners have been done as often people pay less by just replacing belts. If all have been done it's usually a sign the owners has 'gone the extra mile'.
Good luck!
