Aux belt is 36k or 3 years and cam belt is 72k or 5 years, whichever comes first.
Would always recommend full kits for both, had mine done last year and hopefully will last.
Re: are 172 and 182 driveshaft the same?
5 different shafts, variety of differences between them all, including length and center bearing (or lack of)
From a CS expert!
Went for the one just incase the refurb cost is too high to fix my nearside damper. May still keep a brand new pair in the event that mine fail further down the line.
Both sides should be in within days I think if ordered.
Not sure I agree, if you look at an Ohlins service agent you will understand my point. A quick search and it appears these shocks adsorbers contain oil and gas (would imagine Motorsport dampers include both?)
This is indeed the stumbling block.
My contact knows BG and wondered about the position with sourcing parts via him rather than from Sachs direct. Not sure why you cannot order the parts from them direct as they are making money! (not looked into this yet)
In terms of seals these can be...
Sent a message to him on CS within minutes of being back up for sale only to be told they were sold again!
Given up now in the hunt for a spare set so my existing refurbed dampers are packed up ready for their trip to Silverstone tomorrow!
Oh dear similar position to me.
Not sure if any others have used those to be honest.
Have been in email discussion with Ben and think I may have upset him slightly. His responses have been professional throughout and feel that I can trust him with my dampers to rectify them.
He is now...
Must be in good condition with no leaks and nice gap near reservoir (message me if you need details about this!).
Missed 2 sets over the weekend and think this may be my best option to avoid a potential hefty second refurb!
Let me know what you've got, cash waiting.
Thanks
Completely agree and shall be raising the point to BG after he inspects my dampers.
There is no way the dampers will be serviced for anything over £500 considering this!
Thanks

£195 posted and covered 5k miles - sold earlier today!
An expensive job expected then! Hope mine are not too bad, will have to see.
Stickers were very faded so they were removed after first service. Decided to get a brand new set of rears and smeared them in grease before fitting so hopefully they will remain in top condition.
Check my arches...
Managed to get my dampers off before the rain and decided to get my mechanic to loosen the top mount bolts to avoid a struggle!
You will see that one of the damper's piston is lower, it does not retract to its usual position so my suspicion of the car being slightly tilted was right. The...
Jon - some very reassuring words there.
Have hit jackpot with a backup plan, have someone who is willing to look at my dampers for me. This may complicate things at this stage but there is someone on here who has a spare set they may be willing to send to this guy (who knows BG well) so will...
Some interesting info there MarcR - could be opening a can of worms here but will be interesting to see if we get any leads.
Hope some do not take some of these messages the wrong way - just to me a £500 pound charge for a service that does not last more than a couple of years does not feel...
Ben at BG advised that the dampers are received as 'used' and in essence a service is only the same as if your engine is serviced.
A warranty would certainly help but from their point of view you could drive the car as hard as you wanted for a year when something is likely to fail due to...
Also have a contact at AST UK I may be speaking to next week (been recommended by a friend who is studying British Motor Sport Engineering) so will see what transpires. Still getting mine serviced with BG on the 29th Feb but really want some backup in the future if things go wrong again...
Good work, hope you get it sorted!
Mine just had a standard service the first time round so will be interesting to find out what has failed. But be useful if we all got some sort of report both before and after the service, that way we know what is being done.
Shame he couldn't do a refurb himself as he seems to know what he is doing! It's a real shame there is no competition really as the refurb charge per damper just seems to keep rising (they were originally £140 + VAT per side, now £170 + VAT per side)
Very good question, and I did advise BG that I had only had mine refurbed to prong their life. Probably would have last much longer without touching them!
The big problem we have here is there are only a few of us on here (and in the Motorsport industry) who have some knowledge of the...
Oh - was not aware of this! Any idea how long it was since they were last refurbed? Will be interesting to know this as could without this extra cost. There seem to be more cases than I thought so will be interesting to see what transpires from this and other cases.
Jon G - will keep you...
Hi,In a similar position although mine were refurbed in May 2010.Ben was quick to respond and re-booked for end of Feb. Without inspection hard for him to say what is wrong I guess. No warranty on any of his work sadly, although cases like this I'm sure he will compromise on cost.Seems a little...
