the end that slides into the locating cage (the big square bit, that is not visible until taken out) if you look on the standard stalk 'arse end' it is completly sealed, but the intermittant one that i have has gaps in one of the end plates that allow you to see the metal conducting plate thing...
Rich, but he is only to willing to refund\replace. (top bloke)
The contacts that are missing (seem to be missing) are on the wiring loom attached to the car and not on the actyual stalk, the stalk looks fine though you can see the inards on one end of the body that are not visible on the...
bugger!
Just noticed on the scanned photo from Ash (the first post on the wiper stalk sticky in the 'How To' forum) that i need connectors\terminals A1, A2 and A3 for intermittant, fast and slow wipe, but the block on the end of the stalk loom only has terminal in A (top row) 1,2, 4,6,7...
Right heres whats (or not!) happening.
stalk in position 0 = off
stalk in position 1 = fast wipe (only when the intermittant adjuster is turned to max\min)
stalk in position 2 = nothing
stalk in position 3 = slow wipe
but the front and back wash and wipe qwork as does the trip...
fitted the new stalk but it aint giving me any adjustment on the intermittant range  - so whats wrong? seeting 2 only works when the bezel is maxed out and the 3 rd click down on the stalk (i take it that this is the intermittant seeting) isnt even intermittant just a slow wipe with no...
.......so wheres the best place to buy the 'proper' intermittant stalk?
i've checked ebay but no luck so far and i remember people where paying around £20 from some place.
any ideas?
cheers.
BTW - I've just hit the 10k mark!
In my local paper there is an artical regarding the bonnet catch failing on a clio whilst in motion.
In this case the car needs a £1000 repair. Renault say 'not enough incidents' to prove a design prob
My misses reakons the wipers slow down when you come to a halt and speed up again when you go above a certain speed. never noticed myself. is this true?
Anyone else got a crap signal on there standard radio?
Its allright on FM but MW (Football) is sh** (compared to the standard radio in my Saxo).
any ideas?
Well from what i've read, people mention that the air\fuel ratio may need adjusting if an induction kit is fitted.
i dont know enough mechanically to argue right or wrong so i'll keep digging for the defintive answer, (did someone mention that there are Renaultsport 'experts' that work for...

Spending to long in my works van (a Saxo VTR with 3 meter lengths of copper pipe hanging out the back windows:lol:)
Hopefully will find the bottle to do a couple of track days next year (scared i'll wrap it up!)
Is there any reason not to replace the standard filter with an after market panel filter?
I've read that induction kits are pointless unless you have a re-map, which i'm not going to do. So is it ok to pop a new panel in, is there any point, what difference will it make?

I bought my Trophy with the intention of never selling it so I didnt care about resale figures. The 197 is bigger and more refined (less fun) and thus a totally different car and that is why i didnt want one, small tin box cars are the best fun - i still love driving my Saxo VTR, because feels...
What is the best product for keeping the black plastics (external) on the Trophy black!
I've been using Autoglym Bumper Care but it isnt lasting very long, though it is at the end of the bottle. any recommendations people.
Still loving the car!!
when i'm at a junction holding the revs at say 1500 it seems to pulse from 1500 - 2000rpm, and im sure that its not a jittery leg  ?
is this me or is the Trophy taking over!
