Thanks both for the feedback so far.
@Mike256 have you noticed any difference in the fluid?
I'm keen to re bleed using Clip (I don't have access to this myself), just to make sure there's no air in the system. The other way is to ABS stop on grass/gravel - not the ideal method.
Still at 30, but will be doing a dawn raid into Wales this weekend. I'll dial them in!
Only still at 30 all around as I've not had chance to experiment yet.
Absolute grip is fantastic. Gives a more playful balance vs the Yokos so far, but I've not 'pressed on' properly.
I had been around 28psi, but on my recent trip to The Dales with my chassis refresh (including damper rebuild) I was fine at 30psi. Definitely very 'sporty'.
I had the PS5s at 30psi straight from the tyre shop, but I suspect I'll need to up the pressures on the front a fair amount.
Very good...
They're on!
I'll report back over the next few days with some feedback vs. the Yokohama AD08 RS tyres I had on previously.
They do feel very different! I've not had chance to put many miles on them yet, via my usual 'test loop'.
The 'squish test' of the sidewalls as the tyres were off did...
Morning all. Which brake pads are people using?
My experience so far:
PBS ProRace: very firm pedal (I liked this). No fade, took a bit of temperature to work. Great bite. But they chewed the discs up, with lots of brake dust which got a bit tiresome when I cleaned it the wheels.
Brembo: from...
Not to hijack the thread... But I can't resist - sorry @photo_ed !
On my Dales trip today I was out with the kit cars, not often the Clio is the car chonk!
Lovely hairpins approaching from Hawes.
I'll be starting at Sawley, working through The Trough, reaching Settle, then to the Ribblehead Viaduct.
Enjoy the Dales!
If they're sold as phase 2 Clio 2 RS (182), they should have the castor.
I can confirm, since driving my car post refresh, the steering feels much more linear and a touch heavier once off centre. This is likely a benefit from refreshing my control arm bushes.
It's more precise and weights up...
@Patrick Bateman when I say "I was concerned over the quality of the K-Tec bushes", it's more that they're of an unknown quality. The TRW versions seem (in the hand at least) close in geometry, mould and metal interleaf position to the originals.
Interestingly, 'Kleber Industrie' is the rubber...
Thanks Nick! I have a few new spare screws ready to go on, having spotted your previous posts on these screws! There's a mystery rivet you can see on the sill, which I'll see to at some point.
I'll update 167's thread with more photos and details of the front end chassis rebuild.
Sorry I didn't see this earlier.
I've just (this week gone) reconditioned my original arms with TRW bushes.
Powdercoating cost me £40. Bushes were £8 each from Autodoc.
Fixings (also from Autodoc) were about £1.50 each, but are still available from Renault, albeit at great expense!
I broke...
Sure np, maybe I should also do an unwrapping video for all us tyre nerds 😅
I shouldn't admit this, but the PS5 looking better than the Conti PC6 did tip it over the edge for me. Plus, they're French...
