Just a heads up folks.

After discontinuing Type D Coolant ( the bright yellow/green stuff the Trophy came with new ) for a couple of years, Renault have done a U-turn. Now reverting back to Type D for all their ice vehicles.

This is good news, but not so much fun for those of us who stocked up on Type D at inflated prices due to it becoming NLA and wanting to keep putting the right stuff in. Nevermind, that's life I suppose.

RPD now once again have good stock of genuine Renault Type D and currently at a good price - just over £20 for 5 litres!

Beware though, there is still some doing the rounds on the Facebook groups priced at double this!! I guess the sellers are unaware it's available again, but don't be duped into paying over the odds for essentially a consumable.

Seen this a few weeks ago, Seemingly the new stuff was corroding the inside of engines and not good so they have went back to Type D.

Once again check the dates when buying as it does have a shelf life. Think its mad like 15 years or something.

No Need to stock up or use the Febi stuff anymore.

Great news. The 'scariest' part of it is that it's now 'Dacia' coolant. Acquired by Renault in 1999 as a 'sub brand'. As long as it doesn't rot the guts out of an ICE that's all that matters. When are Renault Group going to start 3D printing or releasing parts to keep all these elderly cars on the roads?
