As I appear to be a glutton for punishment. After my recent Sachs Damper sourcing escapade, I had been wondering which part to focus my attentions on next to try and source.

The front Arch Liners (the frontmost sections), are both getting quite tired on No.407, in particular the offside one which is pretty much in tatters with a fair chunk of it missing. I’ve known for a while these have been getting increasingly difficult to find either new or in good used condition and the pricing from breakers has for quite some time been a reflection of this rarity. Around £150 a side seems to be where they've settled currently.. (and that for ones with the side section broken off and cracks and splits around the fixing points - there's one of these on eBay at the moment. ) It seems a lot to pay for some bits of plastic, but as they're unique to the RS arches and bumper, there's not really any choice - I doubt anyone will ever go to the expense of tooling up to reproduce these either, they're too large and complex a shape.

I approached a couple of folk who I suspected might have some, but with no luck, they mustn't be selling at the moment, so I did some further digging and having spotted the ultra-rare offside example on eBay, indulged in a rare bidding war. A pair of very very good used examples came into my possession, then a couple of days later, another source popped up on my email with some brand new ones! Touted to be the very last new ones in the country available from Renault swung it for me and a day later a large box arrived.

The upshot of all these ramblings is; I now have slightly too many. I'm planning to keep a couple to fit to No.407, a couple for the attic. Which leaves a couple of Nearside ones available, one very good used, one brand spanking new with all the Renault sticky labels still attached is what I'm thinking I'll release at this point. I'd like them to go to fellow Trophy owners with a need for them, and will be offering them up for sale in due course. Pricing as ever, will be as fair as I can make it for fellow forum members, that said - I do NOT want to see them being flipped on eBay..

Advert coming soon in the 'For Sale' section of the forum, or first dibs if you send me a message.

Fantastic effort once again for your hard work in finding these little gems.

Good call with your comment regarding they are for Forum users in need.
We can all stockpile parts just in case but where do you stop?

Keep searching Inspector Clouseau Ed.

Thanks guys for all the positive replies!

Folk have helped me out via the forum immensely in the past, so I feel it only fitting if I can do similar for other members who need these hard to find bits and bobs.

Cheers Andy. It's an interesting conundrum isn't it where you stop collecting parts. I think if your intention is to keep the car long term then it's definitely of interest to put aside certain bits to keep it going in the future which simply aren't readily or easily available.

I thankfully had the foresight to do it with all my BMC Mini bits 30 odd years ago, keeping them for years and years when the prospect of being anywhere near an old Mini was simply inconceivable. But then, when we did buy our little '65 Cooper, I had shed fulls of the stuff to keep it going (and maybe make it a bit faster too... 😁 ). Some of the original bits for that are eyewatering prices now; £650+ for a twin carb airbox if you're lucky enough to find someone to sell you one. I'm applying the same logic to Renaultsport stuff now, as I'm hoping it'll save me money and time searching down the line.😁(y)

If I can in turn help out other folks on my parts sourcing journey, then it brings me joy to do so.
