The trophy isn't getting any younger. Crazy or brave, here are a few of probably many photos of the (underside) restoration of trophy #007 in the build up to the next trophy weekender. That's right no lift either as the garage i'm using isn't finished yet. Its part of the new house my parents have built in their garden which is still being finished off. However the freshly painted walls of a new garage were too tempting to hold of getting stuck into the trophy's rough edges. Especially as i had scratched the itch a little by working on the 200 cup a bit.

I think i will continue posting on the owners register (#007). But not sure.

The rough aims:
  • Treat any rust i find rust
  • Replace rusty bolts
  • Replace worn degraded bushes, bearings and mounts
  • Media blast and repaint components
  • Try not to break too many rusty fasteners (unlikely)
  • Try not to add too much more to the list (also unlikely)

Hope this quick response clears it up(y)

The car is definitely 100% 007/500. I remember you being skeptical when i first posted on the owners register and as a result researched thoroughly. As for the seats they are the only part i think may not be original as the sticker on them looks all blurred. However the cars modifications, number plate and all other personal touches from previous build threads all match up. A few for example being the dash inserts that had been re trimmed in alcantara the personalised plate with 007/500 at the bottom the fact the engine had been replace the service history matches. The key fob that Chris bought came with the car. The whiteline ARB that he also bought is present.

Judging from what you said previously the seats could have come from 012/500. But the car still remains to be 007. Chris who was the owner who had bad luck with going through engines follows me and commented that he is glad to see the car still going and being used on one of my welsh weekender photo. Is he the person who you think stripped it? Can always ask him what happened.

As for it being stripped. The car still has all trophy specific parts. I also have the original trophy springs. Seems odd if it was stripped why they would be left with the car. Mikeygp can i ask where you heard this from?

Some of previous owner threads:

And here are both Lee and Chris in the service history. They are in it a lot with all the other owners. The previous reg that Lee had when the car was new can also bee seen.

Lee the first owner lived in Stafford near to where the car was serviced.
