When I recently purchased #31 I did so knowing it had its fair share of small stone chips on the bonnet, as to be expected. The previous owner had considered repainting the bonnet but wanted to keep the original paint, so thus it stands now with original paint but a number of those pesky white marks of 'undercoat' showing.

I watched a YouTube video that used a Loew-Cornell Fine Applicator to touch in chips and it worked really well. Preserved the original paint but touched in those white chip marks.

I though i would give this a go, but first hurdle is obtaining a small bottle of Capsicum Red paint .... any suggestions as to where i can get this, given I should be able to provide a paint code (what is it ?) ?

Anyone had any experience of doing this ?

I've seen vials of the paint on eBay. No idea of the quality though. Will watch this thread with interest as it's something I'm thinking of doing myself at some point.

Don’t mess about, get it painted. It’s an easy colour match for a decent body shop, they can blend it into the top of the wings and it will look great. You have to accept though that if you use it you will get it chipped again

Absolutely, and with that reality I'm not rushing to do it as whilst they are there they don't detract from the driving pleasure, only a minor cosmetic.

I have a good local body shop that would paint it but thought I might have a go at the touch up option, only if to see how it works out.

Ian, have a look in the tool kit/tyre inflator kit bag in the boot. There was a paint stick in there when I sold it to the previous owner. It may still be there? Hope car is okay - I'd love to still be owning it!

Thanks I will take a look as Simon gave me the tyre inflator bottle, new Sachs shocks, be heater panel and original radio.

Very nice car and will enjoy it.

There are a few around for sale so perhaps not #31 but another ?
