In today's new marketplace, with the price of most cars going down,it may turn out to be a regretful decision by the seller.

But it's their car so they can do what they want with it.

The reserve must have been at least £21k plus then.
I think I know who the seller was, and would say that the initial reserve would be set close to £30k with it lowered to £25k towards the end. Either way, too strong, as the no sale illustrates.

I know we could... ;) But perhaps best kept to DM or face to face?

Come on Jules - don’t hold back

I’ve already put that the black stickers are missing from the front bumper - must have been painted at some point -

It‘s what I do isn’t it? 🙂 Tbh I think expectation was a little high, beery, post Xmas funk or not.

Who ever bids knows what the reserve is as they take the money/apply for fees straight away before bidding finishes

I’m not sure that’s correct Alex - I’ve bid on cars and they will not disclose the reserve till the auction finishes - they will then try and deal you to give more - also they will reduce there commission if it helps to make a deal.

Only my experience and it may have changed as it’s over 6mths since I’ve bid on anything.

My experience as a previous bidder on stuff is the same as yours Nick.

I'm not sure if there was any skullduggery in play there Nick. I'd imagine it to be fair and reasonably tidy underneath, it certainly wasn't being pedalled as an ultra concours example, more low mileage usable in my view.

Yeah, it would have been nice as I think the engine bay had some attention to get it looking acceptable. As Ed says, I don’t think it was hiding too much, jacking points were all very tidy.

Just curious about what happens if a car doesn't sell or meet its reserve.

Do CC facilitate or approach the highest bidder to see if they will offer more?

Yes Francis - all they want is to sell something and earn there commission

They also do it to the seller too - even before the auction finishes

I mentioned and then deleted, that I thought the photos were a little low res, but is that a really bad scratch on the bumper just in front of the front (drivers side) wheel of just a reflection?

Yes. I noticed that. ;)

Couldn't make my mind up if it was a weird reflection from something in the gravel.

While bidding on a few weapons myself that I was outbid on my card was charged with the amount that would have only been the reserve amount 🤷🏻‍♂️

It must have changed then in that respect, mine only ever pre-authourised with the buyer premium (fees) amount..

I watched this in the last couple of minutes. Wasn’t intending on bidding mind you but it timed down to zero then jumped back to 2 minutes!?!? 🤔😃

That's how CC works. It keeps going until the bidding runs out of steam.

From the FAQ on the CC site:

"Can other bidders 'snipe' at the end of an auction to outbid me?

Our platform prevents sniping by automatically adding more time. Any bid received within the last two minutes will automatically trigger an extra two minutes to be added. After this point, only once there are no further bids within a two-minute window will the auction end."

That explains it then 😃

Hi all, based on this recent sale or lack of, do you all think this is a good potential purchase ?

It looks really clean, is it known to the group?

I have messaged to ask if it’s still for sale.

Kind regards Andrew
