I have used Mark Fish several times and can highly recommend him, Im just down the road in Chelmsford and would rather drive to Harlow than use the local Renault dealers, he fitted my Orbisoud and Brembo brakes a few weeks back

Interesting thread. I'm from near-ish the Chelmsford area, so a decent place in Essex would be nice! Fed up with driving miles for a service - I took my Racing Puma to Pumabuild in Birmingham and my Focus RS to SCC in St Albans. Something nearby would be much easier!

That Tailors? Took my 16valver to them once. They broke more than they fixed!

i'd highly recommend Angelworks for the inlet matching.... i wouldn't say its a major mod - but it makes a major improvement, it's what i would call a manufacturers fault at not having done it as standard - imo all i did was do what the manufacturer should have done.

I too used PB twice when I owned my ZS.

When Paul & Alan were there they used to be magic, I'm not sure anymore though tbh.

Dunmow, isn't there something about not beating your wife for a year and getting a load of bacon?

There seems to be mixed reviews of them around now, but I went a couple of times (although we're talking over two years ago now) and was very happy with the service both I and my car recieved. They managed to source a brand new LSD-equipped Ford gearbox for me too. :)

Nearly the right idea,no argument for a year and 1 day.
And if you convince the panel of judges and jury you win a Flitch of Bacon.

A history lesson on CT!!!!!

Essex for my sins.
I have had nothing but problems with Lookers in Chelmsford, from the day I bought my car.

Any warranty work that is needed the car goes over to John Pease in Silver End, they are spot on and always happy to help. The last time the car went in I picked it up cleaner than it was when in went in, the interior was vacummed and they had put a nice new smelly thing in.

In terms of getting the car serviced I have only ever gone to a specialist, since BB no longer do serivces looks like it will be Mark Fish or take a trip down to RENTECH. Eaither way i wont let Lookers touch the car ever again.

Just had my car in at a garage in Newcastle to look at the passenger seat rattling. According to Benfield Newcastle this is supposed to happen? Is this true?

I ve never met any good renault franchise garages ever - they all seem very clueless

no it's the seat running that need replacing.... jesus h christ Reno need to get ontop of their delaership franchises - everyone one of them a shower of shite. I'm about to meet the Aftersales guru this afternoon to sort the problems i'm having with them, according to them they think it's an isolated case - you need to let reno know about the problems when you get them!!

How do you contact Reno - through web site?

At the garage you cant fault the lasses on the desk but it's the mechanic or technician or specialist body shop co-ordinator!

Another problem with mine which I enquired at the dealership this morning was the driver's door is catching the bodu of the car just slighlty and this gas cause the paint to chip.

Mr mechanic said "hey sonny jim that ain't covered on warranty it''ll be the wind."

Neive Trophy owner "the wind? You for real, how can that be?"

Mr mechanic "well they have a tenadancy ya nah to catch in wind and knack the alignement. Body shop that. Not warranty"

Neive Trophy Owner "Is this a common problem?"

Mr mechanic "happens all the time like!"

Call me a non trusting person to the geordie mechanic community but if this a common problem might it be the build quality? Just a thought.

GDI are top in my opinion. Much better prices than the dealers and do a great job too. And they are still pretty close to you.

I'd give Andy a shout if i was you. He certainly knows his stuff.

Yeah my pal at work grew up with Andy so I think any work will be passed his way or Ben at Angel Works.
