the scottish role is fictitious, alot of the other facts though seem as though they are acurate. I haven't seen the film the website for it virtually told me everything i need to about the flick... lol looked good though if your into factual bio-graphical type stuff.

I'm not necessarily into bio or true story films especially because they are never 100% real and there is always an element of fiction. I always end up wanting to know what really happened...
so I much prefer watching a fiction and then I can relax!

I never go and read aout a film before. If I see a trailer I like, I'd go and watch the film but never read reviews or anything beforehand, it often spoils it.

Well, it'd be nice to have feedback and exchange views with people who have seen the films, but it's not happening!
So I'll carry on with the monologue

I would, but like I say I can't.

THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND
Certificate 15

THE STORY:

"I myself consider myself the most powerful figure in the world." -- Idi Amin. It was supposed to be a wild adventure in a far-off country, but when a naive young doctor arrives in 1970's Uganda - hoping for fun, sun and to lend a helping hand -- he finds himself instead on a shocking ride into the darkest realm on earth: the human heart. This is the story of THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, a powerful thriller that recreates on screen the world of Uganda under the mad dictatorship of Idi Amin. Definitetly mixing fact and fiction and startlingly resonant with today's world, the film features a tour de force performance from Forest Whitaker as Amin and carves two unforgettable portraits: one of a charismatic but psychopathic ruler who ravaged his country and the other, of a witness to history who finally finds the courage to make a stand.

Cast: Forest Whitaker, James McAvoy, Kerry Washington, Simon McBurney and Gillian Anderson

Director: Kevin Macdonald
