I used a rotary polisher with poorboys ssr2 followed by a random orbital polisher with meguiars speedglaze and two coats of spitshined collinite 476 wax :D

Detaiing a car is all about preparation, if you combine the right product with the right tecnique then any wax will look good.

Your comments are however correct when based upon products bought from halfords, if you were ever to move into pro range stuff you would realise you can't simply call a polish, a polish. :D
