Took #449 for its annual trip on the ramps at my local MOT station on Friday. Given the car had only done about 500 miles since the last one last September I thought I'd be walking away ticket in hand.
Well the eagle eyed tester spotted a broken rear spring and a more obvious faulty hooter!
The upside was that the noise I had always presumed was an iffy top mount was the bit of spring in the cup. He handed the broken bit to me and all was quiet over the speed bumps on my way home. I'm fairly convinced the spring was probably broke n at the last test but hey ho.

MossyV6 on the CS forum came to my rescue with a lovely pair of hardly used 182 cup springs complete with red and white stripes. An hour on Sunday morning and a bit of physical effort saw the problem solved. Likewise half an hour and a bit of emery paper and electrical grease cured my audible warning instrument woes.

The car is back in the garage now although I did pick up a full set of Brembo grooved discs and pads at a bargain price on the FB page at the weekend. Again CS came up trumps with one of the guys on there sending me some ABS rings FOC for the rear discs, I'm picking up some SNR bearings this week and getting a mate to press them in for me so hopefully I will have a nice looking brake set up in the next few weeks.
