so was browsing through the Clio sport member page on Facebook and came across this poor car!
according to the post it’s located in Edinburgh. Anyone shed some light on it. Think it needs saving ASAP.

That's pretty sad. I wonder why the paintwork on those two panels is okay and the rest are roached, I mean what has happened to that paint?
My guess is that that is probably beyond economic repair.

It's looks to have oxidised - probably been washed with fairly liquid at some point. The door, wing and mirror could be newer, hence the different appearance.

Putting my car crash investigator hat on, I'd say the cars had a minor scrape on the drivers side, which has resulted in the new door, wing and mirror. Pre this the owner used to wash the car with fairly liquid, which the bodyshop pointed out was the worst thing for paintwork since the invention of paint stripper and the body shop did a half arsed job at painting and used the wrong the etch primer on the wing mirror and not enough layers of lacquer.

It can probably be restored to be fair if it is just oxidisation, decent detailing session would get it gleaming, but its hard to tell exactly from the pics.

Yeah pretty much what I thought too though still think it’s beyond borderline. New rear bumper and spray, knowing the way the petrol filling points rust I would say that that is the rear wing that has gone, new rear quarter? Full service, Sachs refurb and that is without considering the reason why is was originally laid up.

The roof and bonnet look to have suffered also, which is why I think it needs a full and sympathetic clay bar, but depends on how damaged (and thin) the paint work is.

Look at the amount of damp and moss growing beneath it. That car has not moved for some time, and id suggest its paintwork is the least of its worries. That's a full recommissioning job.
