Newbie with a new 172 problem!!

Hi guys, cheers for you help with the brake situation... got that one sorted now and they're working fine.

Right, onto the new problem... I'll be driving along and the doors usually lock automatically... that I can live with. Now, when I pull away they lock like usual, then unlock, then lock, then unlock, then lock, and so and and so forth. What can I do to fix this? I've tried holding the lock button on the console but it didn't work. It's getting REALLY annoying as it happens the whole journey.

have you checked the actual locks? try WD40 on them and a bit of grease to allow for free movement of the locking mechanism. If that doesn't work it'll be an electrical issue.

If all fails to what cue says then its likley to be a door mechanism solenoid! As the solenoid cant be brought seperatley it will be a complete door mech!
But you will have to find out which side is causing the problem!
