The original batt was still delivering but getting a little lazy on first start in the mornings (even though, generally, I don't do mornings!) so, pre- winter and after 8 years (good for the original battery) I got a new one today for the equivalent of 65 quid - bet I'll not be alone once this winter arrives

Was a higher output (570amp) Fulmen extreme ( the best one on offer here in French Halfords equivalent)

starts like a new car now :)

Better to change now than in December when it's freezing and completely dead!

I changed my original battery last week as well. It had been getting a little lazy but then one day I went to the garage to start it and I had nothing. Checked all the free options first like stuck starter motor and TDC sensor. Went for the 063 Halfords battery and it now starts like a dream. glad it happened in the garage and not out and about. I would say if you are still on the original battery look into getting a new one before winter fully sets in.
