Can anyone recommend an after market engine mount set? I’ve looked at Powerflex

These are available from EBay.

My lovely Clio has an aftermarket Miltek exhaust which knocks between first and second and on start up . It’s not too bad over 30mph and higher gears but it’s annoying me.

I’ve tried a stainless weld between the back boxes but it’s not improved. The exhaust specialist suggested engine mounts may need changing as the engine/gearbox is rocking too much?

Any ideas? Any experience of aftermarket engine mounts?

I’ve fitted pretty much all the Powerflex bushes to #256 (I didn’t replace the steering column bushing). Overall, I’m really pleased, the car feels a bit tighter and a bit stiffer, no squeaks at all, and the old bushes were definitely showing their age.

The only downside I’ve noticed is with the yellow Powerflex bushes: since fitting them, my mirrors vibrate and I haven’t yet found a way to stop it. Other than that, it’s been an okay upgrade with marginal improvement on the road and more noticeable improvement on the track.

On my "old" Trophy I fitted a set of Vibratech mounts to my trophy.
They are a stiffer rubber mount.
My mounts didnt need replacing, but i got the vibratech ones at the right money so bought them.
Just to let you know they do transfer a slight little bit more vibration into the cabin / car, but only at tickover, otherwise youl not notice there fitted.
The engine/gearbox does seem to feel more "solidly" mounted in the car. But its difficult to describe the "enhanced" sensation it creates.

The car also had polybushed dogbone bushes fitted.
These were already on the car when I bought it.
They seemed to make a difference the gearchange stiffness, but they did transfer slightly more vibration into the cabin.

I’ve ordered the dog bone bushes (yellow).

Let’s see if it improves the exhaust knocking.

Fingers crossed.
