#490/500 £4,500
MOT 07/01/17
5 owners
Sachs rebuilt 2013
Cambelt replaced 04/2016
Sadly time has now come to part with #490, a change of job means my commute has increased a fair whack and I don’t want to be doing it in the Trophy. I have owned the car since July 2015 and am the 5th owner. The car has covered just shy of 120k miles, this is unlikely to increase in any sizeable about in the near future.
During my ownership I have tried to bring a bit of life back into the car this includes;
Aux belt, handbrake cables and a wheel bearing July ‘15
Replacement tailgate struts from SGS July ‘15
4x Michelin PS3 tyres in the correct W rating, loads of tread left still, along with laser alignment Aug ‘15
New coilpack and HT leads Feb ‘16
New genuine Sachs rear shocks and Powerflex upper bushes Feb ‘16
Full cambelt and dephaser pulley changed along with all associated parts by Two Techs in Dartford at 118k. Also while it was there I had them fit a replacement CAT and lambda sensor. They also gave the car a once over and said that everything was find and healthy.
I have a receipt from Conering Force from Oct ’13 showing the Sachs were stripped and rebuilt, I also have the dyno graph for both.
The car is completely standard bar the usual aftermarket exhaust system, in this case the car has the Milltek system fitted with resonated centre section. I also have a Milltek decat which could be included as well if required, I found it gave just a little bit more noise when you wanted it without it being tiresome. I have always run the car on V-power.
I have just had a friend of mine give the car a full detail (www.marells.co.uk) and considering the age and the fact the car has 120k on it, I think it looks fantastic and now shines beautifully in the sun.
Inside the car is in great condition, no wear to front seats and bolsters, I have always used a seat cover during my ownership. The steering wheel grips are in perfect condition, the car had a replacement wheel fitted a few years ago and this shows, rear seats look hardly touched.
As with anything there are a few things which aren’t perfect but not bad for a car that is 11 years old and covered 120k. It has the usual stone chips to the front, and a couple of the wheels have the odd bit of kerb rash. On the inside, the passenger seat runner rattles a little bit, when someone is sat in it though it’s quiet. This is a very common issue if you search about it on the Trophy forum but sadly there doesn’t seem to be an easy fix so I have just got used to it.
I’ll be very sad to see the car go, it’s been on a few adventures in my hands and has been perfect for the job and very capable. I have always been surprised by the amount of positive comments and attention the car receives when out and about!
Any more question please don’t hesitate to ask, please either PM or text/call Edd 07759719841 the car is located in Tunbridge wells, Kent.
