Alarm on/off every 5sec?

Got woken up this morning to my Clios alarm going on off ever 5sec or so. Only the sounder and no indicator flashing.

Open and closed on key then was ok.

Anyone else had this happen or know what's been set off on alarm circuit to do this?

If you have a look at the red light by the gear stick, depending on the amout of flashed will tell you what triggered the alarm (there is a page in the owners manual about what each flash means). I would guess it may have been the internal sensors tripping the alarm (do a quick search on here will give you alot of info about them). You can turn the sensors off on the car by turning the igntion on/off 3 times and then lock the car; it will beep a few times to let you know you have disabled them. This may help you to identify if it is the sensors or not.

Common problem with these alarms is the interior sensors and the bonnet pin switch, as said try disabling the sensors to see if that is the fault, if the alarm still goes off, next thing to try is to bypass the bonnet pin switch, if the alarm is annoying people by going off all the time then you can lock the car manually.
