Ed did the callipers come Black from the factory like the brochure shows -

There was never an official Renault brochure for the Trophy Nick.

This looks like something someone's cobbled together, there are too many anomalies with the images, fonts and copy for it to be a Renault item. Wittering on about bits of plastic trim which are 'aluminium', a pic of the engine cover - which was never fitted to Cup or Trophy models, the Renault Sport logo is later too, from the next generation 197 era.

My understanding and vague memory is the calipers were the bare metal finish we've discussed before from the factory, they certainly weren't painted.

Agree with Ed, I think i saw this a while back(?) it is just something someone copied and pasted together. The only "brochure" as such was a one page press release sheet from renault with the Alonso/Fisichella photo.

I think bare metal is the wrong choice of words (sorry Ed) They were not painted but had some kind of protection or they would have rusted from the off. Not sure what the finish was not black but very dark charcoal grey.

There wasn’t a hard copy brochure as the others say.

There was however a CD Rom and I believe this is from that.
I remember the cd rom which came with No.069 when I bought it new. But never actually looked at it in period. It also went with the car to it’s next owner… I now kind of wish I’d kept hold of it to now go with No.407.

No problem Jules 😁(y), your knowledge is superior to mine. I remember the caliper slider being a darker colour, but always thought the caliper body itself was more of a cast finish albeit with, as you say, some sort of coating/treatment on it. It's a long while ago now to think back nearly 25years to when I gazed upon the cars when they were factory fresh... 😁 So, more than happy to agree with your info.

Ah yes, I had forgotten about the cd, I have to admit I always thought it was a bit after thought.

Ed and Nick, my picture makes the finish look darker than it was but would be interesting to know what finish they were given.
